List of congested exchanges?

Completely agree, but I'd rather have adsl at 30-50% capacity than having to wait for Telkom to get their head out of their arse and do the upgrade. Apparently marketing 10Mb, uncapped and free trials is more important than the actual service offered to clients. Incompetent ****ers.

and then mybb still produce articles on whats holding back SA for 20/30mbps connections... :rolleyes:

with this NEW uncapped 1MB we are now well and truly screwed... Ive cancelled my 10mb account and using a 1mb till this shyte get sorted out.

oh yeah... and Telkom?? FU :mad:

Does it help downgrading the line?(other than cost) Telkom dropped my 4m to 2m. My 4m stopped working completely. On 2m Im getting a trickle but it's extremely slow. Getting about 1kb/s on anything and everything. Even email is taking 10 mins just to receive one mail with no attachments.

my issue is resolved, but the problem will remain.

ive spoken to soooo many people about the issues telkom are currently facing, and you need to realise that there is no short term fix. the bottom line is that every exchange that is indicating over-usage, they already KNOW about it. they can see. that exchange needs additional bandwidth but that approval comes from head office... and THAT wheel turns quite slowly. they happy to acknowledge the problem, but no ETA on resolving the issues.

to those who are still suffering from this issue, my sympathies.
 
The exchange in nearest to Edgemead, Cape Town has recently gone to sh**. In this past week my pings have shot up from 10-30 all the way to 300+ (Peaks at around 600 sometimes).

My line speed is also diminished, but that could just be me being throttled. I'm more worried about ping anyways. :(

looks like I am also with you. For the last month my ping varies from 13ms in the morning to 600ms plus in the evening. As an online gamer my hobby is totally stuffed. thks Helkom for my wasted R1500 per month.

I have same issue. Line is great during the day and then 7PM rolls along and bye bye ping.

I reckon a concerted effort and mass mailing on a daily basis is needed. Anyone care to share e-mail addresses/ phone numbers so that we can basically get some kind of response from them? I mean we are paying for this after all...

Yesterday I requested a refund for the Adsl portion since beginning of Aug. Kick them where they feel it.
 
You can add the Somerset West exchange to the list. The thing is conngested as fsck! Getting 1000ms on average after hours and it starts claming down to about 500ms later at night and only returns to normal at about 11:30 - 12:00pm. I'm sick of this ****. Thinking about cancelling my ADSL, but only after giving them a little bit of uphill.

Agreed similar issues here and on the same Exchange

The issues are exactly the same as others have reported here.

It's been like this since May 2009, with short periods of relief in between.
After a big battle, I managed to get my line switched to a new DSLAM with 10MEG capability and everything absolutely awesome for about 3 months.
The nonsense started again 3 weeks ago, predominantly over weekends.

I've given up on them and won't bother trying anymore. I think it is a bloody joke that a customer has to battle for months and months on end, trying and trying again and again and again, with absolutely no success. It is simply pathetic. If I was Telkom, I'd be so ashamed.
 
If I was Telkom, [-]I'd be so ashamed.[/-] I would offer free trials to every Tom, Dick and Harry, add uncapped to that, and further **** up what is already a widespread infrastructure congestion problem.
