The ANC is now claiming that load-shedding is a good thing! Good grief.

How on earth they can possibly come to this conclusion is beyond me. This just shows the low level of intelligence prevalent in the governing party. :eek:
 
A quick heads up, I see on the poweralert website they have switched to the Stage 2 B "load shedding" schedule (this morning it was 1A I think) - for example my area was on the list only for 20h00. It is now for 14h00 as well. Maybe check yours!

We lost power an hour ago Northern Free State.We are only scheduled from 16h00 till 18h 30.
Sasol also on emergency power.
Soon........ petrol shortages!

Yes, noticed today it's on Brown Stage 2. That means at least 2 outages in your area per day. Very frustrating! In my area I'm off from 12h00 - 14h30 and then again from 22h00 - 00h30. No more late night movies! :)
 
No one else think its amusing that the worst stage is brown - considering how diep in die *** is ons dan*

Well JHB CBD closed down at 2:30 today.
Sandton I believe was off the same time.
And there were reports of PTA being down as well.

I can only vouch for the CBD.

Three of the business centres of Africa (arguably the 3 biggest), closed for most of the afternoon.

Yeah driving through Sandton, Morningside and Rivonia this afternoon around 3pm was an absolute nightmare...

I wonder what affect this is having on the JSE in Sandton(? are they still there - been years since I went there).

Even should they have generators - how many of their clients" do?
