Hi , well it's the new year and time to shop :P

I have read the thread on the Sinotec 47 , and I must say I am leaning towards this one.

But now I see Game has a special on the Logik 47 for R9999 .

Anyone bought this? Not seeing a lot of reviews on this model.

I read somewhere that Logik/Sinotec are basically the same *waiting for flames*

Any insights/rants/raves/slaps would be appreciated.

I'd go for Sinotec. :)

Whats the warranty on the Logik? EDIT: 3yrs vs. Sinotec 5yrs.

Seems to be a 36 month onsite guarantee , I will check it out this weekend and report.

No they not, they just want a Sale. Personal opnion, Sony V550 40", or Samsung 5Series 40". Quality not Quantity

I hear you , really still on the fence here , just looking for more expert opinions. I suspect this thread is going to become busy ;P

i'd rather have a 47" POS than a 20" High Quality Screen to be honest

I haven't had any experience with Logic but the sino works well...how much are the sino's now?

When I was looking - I took the 40" sony over the 47" (or 50") Sinotec purely because of performance and picture quality.... after about two days I took the Sony back - and spent an extra fortune and got the 46" Samsung :p

There was a blog linked to on this forum recently that I can't find about a guy comparing Sinotech to Sony (could be the 47" vs 40" respectively) with pictures, and he basically just adjusted the Sinotech's options to look just as good as the Bravia from viewing distance. The Sony was marginally better close-up.

Also what will you be using the LCD for? Most say Bravia/Samsung etc is better for SD TV viewing, while Sinotech is just as good for PC/console/DVDs.

Also remember that in store, the "branded" units are hooked up to better feeds. You can only compare if both LCDs are playing the same feed.

Sino 42'' owner here and all i can say for the first 3 months is WOW im impressed.
um what can i say ? i still have 56 months left on my warrany,it plays Ps3 beautifully and any HD content looks awesome :D

I just dont know of too many people who own Logik so i wouldnt bad mouth them or anything. One thing i must say is that 42'' or 47'' Logik at game had an amazing picture quality.it made the Sony it was next to look like a POS. im sure the Sony wasnt properly tuned but it did look k@k compared to the Logik.

that huge ass LG at Game next to east rand mall looks gorgeous! think it was borderless and possibly an LED LCD @ 47" (maybe even bigger)

R33 though...

What didn't you like about the sony?

Mine was darker in the corners - took it back, would have gotten another one but the girlfriend wasn't with, so I could get the bigger 46" :)

Also took the Samsung back a few times because of dead/hot pixels, I eventually made them unpack it in store so I could see it was 100%.... and a year later, its still 100% :)

I actually had a decent chat about TV's with a guy at HIFI Corp. It really is a breath of fresh air when you ask a sales person to compare 2 TV's and they can actually give pros and cons of both.

I had a sales guy once tell me that the one TV was better than the other because they just got stock of it and it's newer?! Really annoying!

I always find the HIFI corp sales people pushing sansui, warfdale and diamond. I reckon they must get extra commission for those brands.

I lol when I see someone with a wafferdale product

Man, I remember the days when Wharfedale made market-leading products and cost an arm and a leg. Only the rich could afford them.
Now even the poor wish they couldn't....
