Hello there.

i am considering purchasing these speakers, logitech X-540 5.1 channel speakers, do you think its a good buy at R879 inc VAT and brand new or should i go for something else.

Please post your thoughts and...uh...keep it clean  hehe

I have those exact ones and I think for the money they are definitely worth it.:) And the price seems good if I think of the R1000+ prices I have seen recently.

Sorry to highjack this thread but i am looking for a set of speaker that is optical for my house, are these speakers optical?

Z-5500 are your best bet. Pity about the enormous price increase since a few months back.

The X-530.. just saw them for R643.... is that decent price or still rather go for X-540?

X530 and X540 are the same but they just look a little different

I want to have 5.1 because i dont really watch movies/TV on the TV or DVD player anymore.

but anyway it doesnt matter now, i have already gone out and purchased the speakers on Saturday and wall mounted them AND they are AWESOME!!!

LoL, I only saw now that someone resurrected an old thread... Soz bout that. :o

I am very unsure about if I should get the X-530 or not..

Its going to bed used on a PC only in a very average|medium bedroom size.

Mostly movies, music and gaming. However I read that mp3s don't play out the back speakers?

I currently have a set of Altec Lansing ACS400 (very old) speakers... still came from the United States... I didnt have a converter plug for it so I am not using the sub woofer at all and got a 13V adapter powering it :/ so yah.. it is kinda dying in a way, I just dont know what is better...

Living it out with my current Altec Lansing ACS400 or buying the X-530 for R643... or later... maybe end of the year going and getting a system worth a bit more.. like R15k?

I dunno.. whats the suggestions?

Small room? Get 2.1. I went from 4.1 > 2.1. Much less clutter.

Z4s ;) - white ones are a good price for the sound quality you get.

2.1 is best for music.
