Logitech X-540 speakers

Yeah, but his last post said that he was going to buy the speakers the weekend and that was posted before the past weekend.... I should have paid more attention. :D

R15k is a bit high... GET THE Z5500. :D

haha.. I meant R1.5k :P

The Z4s are about R1000 - R1100sh right. (jump.co.za search)

X-530 is R643.. like half the price... really worth double?

Id prefer to maybe stay under R1000 if I can get a decent system for that... thats why I was wonderin about the x-530

I'm not sure about the X-530 but with the X-540 it has "MATRIX MODE" so if you are listening to 2 channel audio and you activate "matrix mode" the speakers (not sure how exactly) manipulate the stereo sound so that it plays through all 5 speakers.

Whats also cool about this is that the voice comes out much louder through the center speaker like its supposed to

I think the sound quality is a bit better on the Z4s, but the X-530 will give you surround sound...

Does everyone here agree my current Altec Lansing ACS400 lacking a sub is rubbish :)

My main question is Logitec X-530 > Altec Lansing ACS400 (lacking sub and running on 13V Adapter)... cause it is suppose to be running on USA power :P

I mean to me the sound from the two (technically 4.. cause of emulated dolby surround) is pretty good.. so it seems im not too fussy.. but hey.

So yah, question is.. X-530 better than Altec Lansing ACS400? :)

I am seriously useless when it comes to sound systems :(

As discussed, the Z4s in white are much less than the black ones. They're about R800. And the sound clarity is much better than X-xxxs, the satellite speakers are made up of different, better quality drivers.

Ive got my X-540's connected to my tv and it works like a dream sound is clear and much better .

Okies.

Final decision i between.

X-530 - R643.00 or G51 R1699.00

buying something like the X5500 is R4000 but ouch.

Im looking for something thats a good buy.

Probably have about R2000 to buy a sound system with, but if I can do well with an X530 then why pay R1699.

Maybe someone can recommend like a creative system for a similar price that's good?

I like the idea of 5.1 so that's why im going the 5.1 way.

Don't know much about the G51... But the more the merrier I'd say.

If you were into 2.1 I'd recommend the Z-2300s.

Btw where do you get X-530s for R643?

Logitech just throw in a car sub woofer and every one jumps for joy that the quality is so fantastic. All it is, is a boomy bass, with no mids at all. Plus the subwoofer has a terrible transient response. The satellites just are one way speakers, so again, they cant produce proper mids. And the amp is ancient. You need to have at least a three way system. I would rather get a sansui 5.1 system than that. (Note im only talking about the z5500 here)

For R600 to R1700, I would get decent headphones, and save up for speakers. R1700 can get you a pair of sennheiser hd555's.

Logitech Z4s (different driver system to the X series) have been better than any Creative speakers I've owned. Crystal clear highs, deep bass. Perhaps the mids lack a bit, never noticed it though.

Between Logitech and Creative I recommend Logitech.
