Logitech X-540 speakers

Yea it will win the Z5500... But like you say it's a lot of money... If you buy just 1 speaker for R2797 then it might actually kick the ass of the Z5500 as well but come on... 1 speaker.. The reason the Z5500 is so good is because it's 5.1 (not just 1 speaker..) and it's THX, DTS.... So it's got some nice playbacks.... I'm going to Hi Fi corp, Game and any other digital place over the weekend to listen if I can get a nice home theater system for around R3500/R4500 then I'll sell my Z5500... But so far there's isn't a nice system that is worth the change... I'm looking at a Sony from Game and a Pioneer from Hi Fi... But how they play..... mmmm don't know yet.

Ok well let me know by PM if it seems likely please.

crysis,
Those speakers are considerably more expensive than even the Z-5500, if you buy 2 x R2797 and that's without the 10" which adds booths however much. They are more expensive and more 'good' than is needed. A better comparison would be an Altec-Lansing pair or something.

renvilo,
Almost any studio monitors/bookshelf speakers will blow the Z-5500 out of the water in any comparison you care to offer. It's a completely different ball game at that level. I'd love to get a decent set of bookshelfs when I've got 20k to blow...

Also, i posted a link of another set of speakers, which is about R5k, which is pretty close to the Z5500 price, slightly more, but close enough. Its just another option, these have 8inch drivers, but no sub woofer. But you probably dont need one if your using them in front of your pc (WHICH IS WHAT THEY ARE INTENDED FOR)

Ok guys,

I was at Game and HiFi Saturday.... I had a listen to a few Home Theater systems and there was n cool Pioneer for R3500 that is about 50% as good as the Z5500... then I came across another Pioneer that really looks nice and really will beat the Z5500 (In loudness not sure in THX and Dolby quality coz I didn't check.)) The price of R7500 was my main problem so I did leave it. So best value for money will be the Z5500 but that's just me...

Yeah... I'd like to see a set with better value than the Z5500s.

Off topic. Anyone seen the Logitech Z Cinemas? I think I'm in love. :o Nice remote too. It would be nice for a new Z5500 revision to come out with that sort of remote and HTPC/XP MCE compatibility.

I wouldn't waste the money on the G51. May as well then go X-540.
