A friend of mine had the Z-4's before we both got Altec Lansing MX5021's 
He was really unimpressed with them, and the Lansing set is much better.
I wouldn't reccomend the Z-4's, and my brother recently got the X-230's which I wouldn't go for either if you have R1000 to spend. Unfortunately there isn't much choice besides the Z-2300s in that range. If you can find anything else I'd try to listen to them first.
