LTE Wireless Uncapped Bundle

And just to put the distance from the tower into perspective here is a picture I screenshot. I'm far from the tower guys but it works and I did get the uncapped bundle. So I suggest you do some testing before giving up or just accepting what the coverage map says.

Green dot is my house I'm using the LTE on now. Red dot is the exact location of the tower and the purple dot is my sisters address I used to signup. :)

Congrats bud. Glad you sorted. Courier it actually messed me over today. Called them earlier and they said coming today. Phone me back later and said there was an error with address and will come tomorrow. I'm also outside the coverage a bit and good to see its working. Hope it gets even Quicker for you!

Hooked up the external antenna and just left it loose over the burglar gate outside and already getting better speeds..... Upload speeds are a bit low which means still not great signal but just waiting for Telkom to come and install the antenna now. :D

Hi Guys....do the courier require a copy of your ID or can you just show them your ID book?

Well my mother signed for my parcel and she only showed it to them and they handed it over. The courier was courieit so maybe they use different courier for different provinces or something but the one that delivered to me did not take any copies.

@cavedog....thanks! They (courier it ) called me at 06:35 this morning! They will be here around 09:00
Have to thank the Telkom Direct Team in Cape Town for resolving my issue so quickly.
Apparently they now first deliver then they debit afterwards.

@cavedog So the guys that do the antenna installation don't care that you aren't in the 'blue' zone? I ordered mine yesterday, but with an address I moved out of a month ago. Already tested that it works in my new place so I'm good

That I will find out soon when they rock up to do the installation. If they complain I will just do the installation myself. The brackets are in the box anyways you just need to get a poll if you don't want it mounted directly to the wall. I got everything to do it myself and I know where the tower is so I know where to point the antenna.

Awesome. I did not even get a call. They just delivered I did not even have a tracking number or anything.

Good news! Just received my goodies!:)
Also received the external antenna.

I received my equipment yesterday morning at 9am :D Still have the red light on the router... Am I correct in thinking the sim has not yet been activated?

My simcard got delivered activated and I did not need to wait. I would suggest maybe put the simcard in a phone and see if it registers on the Telkom Mobile network. If it does then it's activated if it fails then it's not activated yet and you could call them to speed up the process.

I did notice that the router is default mode on Auto and for me it preferred full Telkom 3G instead of 1 bar LTE and gave me the red light.

If your sim is activated which I think is already log into your router and change the mode from auto to 4G only.

hey guys in respect of the towers. is the uncapped package locked to those towers or does the tower just have to support LTE.
need confirmation on this.

No my simcard is not locked to a specific tower. It is however locked to only have a data connection on Telkom LTE network. So as long as you get signal from a Telkom LTE ot LTE-A tower then you will be fine.

Yip red light here too....

EDIT: did the phone test....sim card registration failed.

Success :D Managed to get it on now but only getting 3G signal at work red light when I switch it to 4G. Do we get chraged for using roaming 3G? Dont want any nasty suprises at the end of the month when the bill comes.

EDIT: according to the site my work address should be in the LTE coverage zone but I am only getting 3G, anybody else experienced this? Will check what signal I get at home.

EDIT 2: Getting LTE at home. Download speed is 25.69 Mbps and upload 6.12 Mbps without the external antenna. So far I am very happy

My simcard refuses to establish a data connection on 2G or 3G so I doubt you will get it to work on anything except LTE.

Ok now your battle begins to get the simcard activated. Maybe give the sales number a ring to ask if they can activate the sim for you. I think the number was mentioned here in this thread. Was it 10213?

Same here tried to connect at work and it refused to connect. My primary use will be at home and I have LTE at home.

I had no luck on 10213. Got through on 10210 and asked them to get the sales people to call me. They only called the next day though.
