Lumia 930

I ran into a Vodacom outlet (Irene Village Mall) this afternoon, the lady in the shop said she had received an email this morning about the Lumia 930.

There's a shipment delay (as Dr@g0nic mentioned), estimated delivery date is the second week of September (hopefully 2014).

On Nokia's facebook page they consider it a good thing that only the Nokia store has got stock. *facepalm*

By now I'd be surprised if we get it this year.

Lol yeah. It's a good thing that only people in Midrand and people that want to get a phone for cash (most likely R8k) will have this phone.
 
Hi Guys

The company that I work for in Cape Town provides me with a cellphone that is up for a renewal (we use MTN).

Based on this thread I requested a 930 as my new handset on Friday last week, even though it still showed as "Coming Soon" on our list of available handsets. I got an email yesterday afternoon to inform me that my order has been fulfilled and that the handset is being couriered from JHB to CPT!

What? How? Did you just do a normal Upgrade through MTN? Or do you guys use some other means?
Hope you get it real soon, if so please drop us some comments here :D

I do not do the upgrade myself, we have a corporate account with a "cellphone administrator" that handles cellphones for the company.

I get a list of phones which is exactly the same as the Yello deals on the MTN site (https://www.mtn.co.za/SiteCollectionDocuments/YelloDeals_TRADER7_2014_WEB.pdf) except of course for the pricing. As you can see from the current leaflet, the 930 (and even the 630) still shows as "Coming Soon" so I was pleasantly surprised to be informed that my phone is on its way.

I forgot about this. The Orange Store sucks and Vodacom sucks more. Orange decided there was a two week ETA, Vodacom said a few days, canceled with Orange and went with Vodacom and to this day, nothing.
 
Yeah so chatted to a lady at Cellucity. The release is expected mid September so they should only get stock around end of September. Yay. More wait. Thanks Nokia.

I sure hope that is not the case. I have been out of the office since Tuesday, so there better be a brand new 930 waiting for me tomorrow morning!
 
I received my Lumia 930 on Friday. So far it is awesome :) Coming from a Lumia 920, it's a very decent upgrade. Missing the Glance screen but I can live without that.
 
Also have a 920.

My contract is due for renewal in December and was wondering if it was worth getting the 930, or holding on for a while longer.

From MTN. Not at a store though. Upgraded over the phone on Thursday. Got the phone on Friday. Just dial 808 and go through to upgrades and insist on the phone. They only have black available at the moment.
