Lumia 930

I have to agree, this is a stunning piece of kit. I've only been playing with it for half a day but already I'm impressed with the build quality and speed.

Hell, the fact that it's an IPS panel makes the 1020 look stupid in comparison because there's an immediate colour shift whichever way you tilt it.

Android vs. iOS fanboy ePenis fight is in another thread. Leave us WP guys alone.

Lol well said.

On another note, Microsoft added support for the Snapdragon's quick charge in 8.1 Update 1. I don't know if it works yet, but I assume so, my 930 charge from 20% to full in just over an hour which is quite amazing!

Any news on OTG support?

Just upgraded to the Lumia 930 (from being a huge apple fanboy) due to work related reasons.

Did not receive the wireless charging mat which I thought would come with the phone (according to online reviews).

How often does Vodacom release software updates for windows phone? Something that I've been spoiled with on the iOS side...

Something that has been driving me insane though, opening received documents in other apps. When I receive a pdf attachment in mail, it looks like such a convoluted process to get it saved to OneNote, OneDrive or Evernote. Really wasn't expecting Microsoft's iOS office suite to have more functionality either.

Realize that switching platforms is not going to be easy at first but I hope that the windows phone platform is one that receives updates\ fixes quickly.

They release updates quite often, and Vodacom usually release them after a week or two. The exception being WP 8.1 which had quite a long roll-out period across all devices.

Use the developer preview app to get updates from Microsoft and bypass Vodacom.

Yes it does and the phone still works after the update :D

Never had a problem, you also get intermediate releases, there was one last week, mostly bug fixes.

Awesome :-)

Must say, starting to love the interface. There are some issues with data exchange between apps and twitter sharing but I'm sure these will be fixed with time.

Funnily enough the only issues I've encountered with the developer preview has been with actual development. In the second last build they broke the video camera API for instance. You won't notice it as a user, but as a developer you're stuffed. They fixed it quite quickly though.

Oh BTW this was only for UK and for early adopters, they didn't say that SA would get this.
SUCKS!
I see Microsoft is opening the deal again for Phones bought from August - November, where you go to a site then just input you IMEI to confirm your device then you will get a Charging Plate and Wireless Speakers.

Wish they would do it here too.

Agreed. Microsoft marketing for WP in South Africa sucks!
They should fire the idiot in charge - clearly not doing anything of value for Windows Phone in SA

Who can we spam as M$SA to ask about this deal?
