MG ZS, MG MG3, Chery Tiggo Pro 4 Elite and the Mahindra.
The two NA cars up here eh, plus the MG3 has like no buttons so no tactile feel, the Tiggo Pro 4 was the next on the list but the Mahindra came in at 30k cheaper than normal price and the Tiggo price. Plus it's the AX5 so almost fully kitted compared to the Tiggo and seats feel more comfy.
But the Mahindra was high on the list, I've liked the front styling since launch.
 
Its a good buy. Reviews put everything on this vehicle on interior and engine performance best in its segment pricing. There are alot on the roads now because people realize the value. BTW @Lupus Is that you in the coffee shop?

Haha nope :-P it isn't though I would love to have my car parked right by it.
The interior is quite snazzy, also technically my first "new" car with so little mileage. My wife has had a new Spark, demo Clio and the Triber new, I've always either gotten her old car or just went older. Though for some reason this one since it's announcement and I saw one at Clearwater mall I fell in love with the front, which only happened once with the old round lighted Polos which I also had :-)
 
The cons, parcel shelf doesn't have the strings that pull up when opening the boot, no boot light. Weird issue with trying to lock the car and final issue tpms is moaning about tyre pressure which is in spec so will need to reset that. Quite a bit buried in menus, but there are also buttons and knobs so I probably just need to figure them all out. The rear view mirror is a bit tough to adjust properly but it's probably cause it's new. No telescopic steering just up and down.
Pros: Decent pull off, doesn't feel like a 1.2 even with a turbo :). Power steering is light and responsive, suspension is about the right firmness :). Back seat can be used for 3 normal sized people. Auto folding mirrors like my clio, auto wipers and lights like my clio. Height adjustable seat, auto dimming rear view mirror. Nice big windows and good visibility, you feel high up when driving.

Ok so stopped at the Sasol and got them to put air into the tyres to get them all to 32/33 psi and TPMS is now quiet. Also figured out the central locking so the car now actually locks, for some reason last night it just wouldn't. Found comfort and normal mode driving though not sure it does much, may need a long drive on a highway to test that.
But only driven 25km now and today got told to WFH due to year end function so I only went up the road to get tyres checked.
Though I do like that compared to the Clio the turbo lag is a bit less, it is still there but the turbo kicks in at lower rpm so you don't feel it as much.

Okay silly thing I didn't double check, the standard AX5 doesn't have the 65w usb c port.

Yeah another AX5L feature. Problem when reviewers only review the higher end models.
But honestly I like the normal sun roof. Plus all the other benefits outweigh the ones I didn't check like no auto dimming rear mirror either.
But the comfort wow still
 
First time with a sun roof that opens all the way. This is amazing :).
Even in 6th there is some really nice pull, I've just got to get the gearing right :) as when going to second I still judder.
The torque as well, overtook a taxi and couldn't change gears fast enough.
Also you can extend navigation over to the front screen.
