Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

Picture quality is superior on the plasma. You guys need to read the thread about that in this forum.

Yip Yip :)

I know. And I am def getting a plasma.

I am considering getting the Sinotec tonight at Makro for R7999.00
Will test it out and see if I am really happy. If not, I will return it and get a LG or Samsung.

mmm... Samsung vs Sinotec... R9k vs R8k.... 1 year vs 5 year.... Reputable vs Starting out... Wish Jimmy would come on and sell his product a bit cause right now even though I love and support Sinotec I would be looking at the Samsung too...

I'm sure if we analysis the technical specifications we would find the Samsung to be in the lead there but would that translate into a definitive and perceivable advantage in the standard viewing environment?

Lg for me is a lemon and not even on the shortlist... I would buy a Logik before I bought anther LG product, but hey, that's just me and my personal experiences with their products...

to pricey for the small difference if any from LCD or plasma

In the end the high priced stuff sells because lots of very, very rich people exist... Samsung/Sony know this....

You are not getting 27k's worth of quality over a 12k LCD....

everything on this planet has "A Top of the range, best, Ultimate" - think about it....scuba equipment, knives, food, old grapes (wine), cell phones, houses, hotels and even something like a signed basketball, or an old coin/postage stamp/comic book/car

but it is really worth it? no. if you had the money? then yes, it is.

Also, be mindful of the difference between LED TV (Samsung marketing bollocks) and OLED TV (up-and-coming technology).

Ah cool man!! Congrats!!

Thanks. When first switching it on it also had motion blur and pixels around the edges. But as the screen warmed up it disappeared completely.

Gonna watch Top Gear S13 now. So excited.

Will decide if I wanna keep it after I watch the Boks smash the All Blacks this weekend and am happy with the quality of sports.

This is quite interesting in terms of the phenomenon of motion blur.
It would seem Plasma's suffer less from the affliction then LCD's. just another reason why Plasma is the prudent option...

plasma is old tech ;) but if you using it for mainly SD content and the odd dvd.. its hundreds.. if your using it for a PS3/Xbox and as a computer screen, and playing 1080p content over it, LCD is the winner by miles.

Plasma is old tech but it's SUPERIOR in picture quality to LCD. HD plasma in 1920 by 1080 can be had for R15K from Samsung.

LCos TVs are also old tech but those TVs offer better quality than any newer LCD out now.

With SED/OLED coming out, chances are LCD will die sooner than Plasma.

Congrats. Which Plasma is that?

Its the Sinotec. Got Makro to put a Samsung and LG next to the Sinotec and play the same content.

I could not spot a difference and decided to take the Sinotec @ R1500 cheaper and 5 year guarantee.

Yes yes, I know. Only watching SD DSTV and some DVD's
No games, no nothing. :)

Nice! :D
Can you supply me with a link? :)

Can you afford the R27k for an LED screen? :p

That is not a LED screen.

This is a real (O)LED screen:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...0151&langId=-1&categoryId=8198552921644579396

This screen is 11 inches across! It has a resolution of 960(H) x 540 (V)
and it's MSRP is $2,500!

Yes 11 inches of OLED goodness costs $2,500!

The Samsung is a LED backlit screen, like many notebooks and some netbooks. It's nothing new. Please call it a LED backlit screen. It is inferior to decent Plasma.
