Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

not sure sandman - my Sinotec set has been going strong so far (16 months)

i've got an ASUS 22" LCD which is about 4 months older than the Sinotec - and it has already got a really blurry left side for I don't know how long...

The ASUS also has color bleeding problems (a Blue tint when it's mostly black filled) at the bottom - was like that when i got it NEW

It also has angle-view problems. colors go really wonky when viewing it from a slightly different angle other than dead on centre. looking from the sides it loses ALOT of its brightness (esp. from the bottom) - the Sinotec does none of this.

The only problem I have with the sinotec on PC use is red text (only with small fonts) tends to blur a bit - but not a problem really.... don't experience this often - once in a blue moon do I see small, red text.....

sandman - have you tried using HDMi?

mmm... What OS you using?

I connected my laptop yes, initially via VGA to VGA and then HDMI to HDMI, HDMI was much better but still not with the clarity of my Samsung 23inch LCD.

Was blurry... May just be a setting... Or my deteriorating eye sight...

@ keeper what screen resolution you use when connected to the Sinotec?

ok, you will never get that much clarity of your Samsung 23" - even on a R240000 Sony Bravia X-Series Black Edition with gold plated HDMi inputs....

your 23" has a resolution of what? 1920 x 1200 ? (or more??) and a 42"....any 42", has either a resolution of 1920x1080 or an HD ready/Plasma set which has 1366x768 or something (or 1024....not sure)

so, the screen is bigger, yet it has the same (or less) amount of pixels - it's impossible for it to have the same quality (pixels per inch) as your 23".

thats why I insist, that if you're gonna use it for your PC, get a 22/23/24/25" or a 42" - never ever a 32" because it's big but has a crap resolution.

for a 42" you gotta get 1920x1080 - thats the best it can do.

maybe there are 4098x1600 42" screens out there, but i'm willing to bet that it costs an arm, a leg, liver, heart, and a kidney or two....

Fair enough, so I think one has to have realistic expectations then...

I was expecting more or less the same resolution, definition and clarity as the Samsung LCD...

You maintain LCD is better suited than Plasma?
 
for PC use, yes.

For SA's crappy TV signals - yes, even DSTv's HD, a plasma is better. (and if you're getting an LCD, a HD Ready is just as good as Full HD)

30 inch monitors run at 2560 by 1600 ie 4 megapixels = double the pixel count of 1080P panels or 24 inch monitors.

As for high end radiology displays from NEC and Siemens, sure those are available but they have very bad refresh rates - they're used to view static images or when used to view motion they imagery is usually of low quality and frame rate. Mainly for Xray, MRI and CT scan displays.

Bravias are the consumer models. You want to talk about the old high range LCos Sony Qualias.

Otherwise a Pioneer Kuro plasma (1080p) at 60 inches costs R95,000 that beats any 'Bravia' set out there.

You do get 32" LCD's with 1920x1080...

Just wait for 2or3 weeks, it will be back again.
I have a feeling that by Dec, the Sinotec will be R7499. I'm waiting for it.:)
 
mmm..the Samsung 42inch Plasma at R9k looks a decent enough offer... Duck only 12month warranty??!!! Pathetic, even my Pvision came with a 2 year warranty..

Even the LG is not bad.
Thing is, the LG and Samsung looks so much better(Frame and stand) but the Sinotec is cheaper and picture quality won't be much different if at all.
And that 5 year warranty is just too good to pass up.
 
Dont let the warranties be the deciding factor guys... go for what you really think looks better.

My almost 4 year old Hitachi HD plasma came with a 1 yr warranty but is still as new in terms of picture quality.

Picture quality is superior on the plasma. You guys need to read the thread about that in this forum.
