Nothing against LG, but don't get the LG Scarlet - that was a FAIL series

I've also had issues with LG items I've had
As for the displays you saw, I'm sure the higher priced items were receiving the better sources in order to bump up sales

I really doubt Sinotec would sell direct, especially that they only seem to go thru Masstores & PnP but worth a shot

they DO do that :p

no sense in putting the Good looking stuff on the cheaper LCD's, otherwise the expensive ones wont sell!

You can add my name to that list too. Every DVD recorder I've ever owned has been a LG and every one has had the dvd player/recorder fail. I've used 2 in my business recording surveillance and 2 at home. Recently replaced the dvd player on the unit at home but these days I use them primarily recording to the hardrive...

I've also emailed Jimmy pointing him in the direction of this thread. Lets see what transpires...
 
As far as LG goes I've had very good service from my Combo DVD/Recorder (6 yrs), 54 Cm Flat screen (4 yrs). The 72 Cm flat screen was a disaster only lasted 18 months. Seems quality varies a lot.
 
I won't bash any brand. I have Tedelex, LG, Sony, HP and Panasonic stuff. Very soon I will also have Sinotec. And I have been both amazed and disappointed with most of these brands in the past.

Of course there will be bad batches and the fact that so many people have problems with maybe their LG product is just proof of the quantities they are selling.
Someone already pointed out that years back we all felt the same about Samsung when they started out. The same with LG.(I still remember the TV ad with the Buffalo and his eye).

One thing that is clear to me is that after sale service from Sinotec is top notch and IF I do have a problem with the screen later I have peace of mind that they will either rectify the fault or replace my screen without too much hassle and stress.:)

and if you buy at makro, you get a 7 (or 14 day, not sure) money back guarantee - so if you dont like it, take it back!:p

*just make sure they still do this, I wont be held responsible if they don't any more.... ;)

Lewis - eish. sales person. eish again. I think we have Samsung.
Lubners - Sales person has no idea what a LCD screen is.
Furniture City - Stocks Sinotec DVD players but not TV's
Trade Centre - Do sell them but no stock=no price
Pick n Pay Hyper - R8499

Some of the stores that stock Sinotec.
Will be phoning some of them for pricing and update here. Will post LCD prices only.
Seems like I'm the only one going for Plasma.
