Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

ok so when i play xbox sometimes i notice a bit of 'hazyness'.... is that because of the refresh rate? nothing i can do about it right.its not a huge issue - i think its mainly me just looking for it.

R1000 less for what i got mine for....
Im still happy with it.i think its been about a month now and gaming has been great and watching Hd rips aswell. The general public will stay clear of it though im sure .
Everytime im at the Game or Makro and i stand in the tv sections i dont see a single piece of interest in the Sinotecs :p Except for this Gran who said 'i like that picture' and ordered one...only time

...and R3000 cheaper than what i got mine for (and mine was on special too - R10k instead of 12k)

that was a about 14 months ago but still

mercurial - it looks pretty $hitty on the 42' so it cant be much better on the 32.

Ok so last night im watching Wolverine in widescreen and i notice the top left and right corners have got some ghosting going on?! its not a huge worry as i dont watch alot of movies and if i put the zoom on a bit it dissapears.ghosting should be included in the 5 yr guarantee right? im just concerned this is the start of something worse

I see it's R7999 at Makro now...anyone know if I can get it for cheaper?

I read almost all the pages here, and everyone seems happy with Sinotec.
or am I missing something?

you missed this:

1) for TV use, especially our Low quality SA broadcasts, the sinotec is gonna suck.
but...the sony's don't look spectacular in this department either =/

2) for DVD use, it's fine.

3) For PC use, it's awesome.

4) For HDtv / Blueray / Hi-Def Gaming it's awesome.

- if you want to watch TV mostly, then you would be concerned about point 1 - to fix that, get a plasma, be it either full hd or 720p (hd ready)

- if you wanna use a huge as screen for pc gaming (which works lekka if you have a lot of series/movies/etc as well), make sure you get a FULL HD set.

Keeper....thanks for the reply.

I know all of that.

I never watch TV, I want a big screen for a new XBMC media center that i am building.

I am also getting a GTX 285 graphics card today, so i will use it for gaming as well.
:-)

.

Hey Keeper do you have an Xbox or PS3?
im just interested because in the short 2 months i had xbox (fcking RROD ) some games looked awesome on the Sino.... but then a FPS like Bad Company looked shocking.
what is the fps on set? im too lazy too look around. a game like Fifa where there is not much 'action' happening on the screen so the screen keeps up.but FPS?

60 hz refresh rate iirc - so no matter how fast your game runs, you will only see 60fps coming through the screen.

i've seen a few times (like when the camera fly's past over mountains pretty fast) that the screen shows some tearing - but I don't experience this very often, fortunately - once in a blue moon maybe :D

this effect doesn't happen so much on the more expensive brands, but there have been cases - iirc it's actually a shortcoming of LCD technology and not the brand itself - samsung probably has better technology to counter this. plasma's don't do this afaik...

the blacks are also blacker on a plasma...and it's more forgiving to low quality sources.

oh - and no, I don't play on consoles :p
