Massive Cell C mobile data price cuts

Any idea what the difference between LTE and LTE home office is?

Box on the left of the address box, the little 3 line menu. It expands and you can select the stuff you are interested in.

Sadly Cell C does not even have 3g in my area.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know. I feel hiding the primary functionality the page behind a hamburger menu is ****ty web design.

And no LTE or 3G coverage in my area either.

According to Cell C's coverage map, PE has zero LTE coverage and only sparse coverage of 3G. Wtf!

I really hope they offload all PE customers onto Vodacom's network.

Been caught by Cell C and their great pricing move before, and then ending up wanting to throw my phone against the wall due to sh*t data and calls. Not falling for that again. My Telkom number being ported back to Vodacom on prepaid tonight (will use either the 79c tariff or Power Hour option if I need to make normal calls) and have just activated a 2gig contract on Vodacom to use in the second sim slop of my MEIZU to take care of my data needs on my phone.

CellC works for me :p

(except when in the boondocks, and roaming is activated, then that is another story)

I use Cell C LTE since the Gauteng launch last year, speeds are great and stable, but coverage map still is not updated.

The best is to test it with LTE-enabled prepaid USIM (all blue SIM's are already enabled).

Took me a few minutes staring at the page and zooming out thinking "how can there be no coverage in JHB at all" to spot it. Really don't like the design either.

I'm sure in areas where cell c has no 3g coverage, you can roam on vodacom 3g. While I was in Gauteng, I experienced this in a few areas. Actually if you in these areas then you are at luck because the speeds are fast. Just search for the networks and select vodacom 3g.

Roaming on vodacom 3g afforded me average speeds around 10mb line.
While Cell c 3g coverage areas, I average a 4 mb line.

Can the prepaid/once off bundles be purchased on existing sims or is this an "in store" deal only?

It can be loaded in store on existing sims.

Good deals when compared with MTN and Vodacom. Telkom uncapped LTE, on the other hand, remains unrivalled by any ISP by a long shot (coverage area depending). More over, as ockie pointed out, I cannot trust Cell C to provide a decent always-on service - bitten once before. Nevertheless, it's still great to see Cell C breaking the mould in favour of the consumer..

I hear Ockie constantly changing from Voda to Cell C then to Telkom (currently) but he has business relationship with Vodacom. It is why he always claims intention going back to Vodacom, but reality is that he cannot afford it. ;)

As for Cell C, definitely you should try. Read Cell C section, there is virtually no recent complaints after the new agreement with Vodacom was implemented. Network is running smooth and customer service is much better than MTN or Telkom (the worst on the list).

It's a Great Deal!

Hi CellC,
I am definitely going to take up the 100GB for R999 pre-paid deal - it is a bargain!
I would just like to know if the 1 year validity is for one calendar year from the date of singing up, or is it a period of 12 months. In other words, if I sign up now at nearly the end of March, then March is counted as my first month, and the deal remains active until the end of February 2017, whereas if I sign up on 1 April then it is valid until the end of March 2017?
Until when is the offer available?
I have a current CellC sim - can I add the deal to this sim?
Sorry for so many nit-picking questions - I just want to be sure of my facts before I go shopping.

awesome pricing

And instead of competing vodacom tries to say CellC is bankrupt... classy

Viva CellC :p
