Massive free data increase from Vodacom

Are Vodacom feeling pressure from Afrihost maybe??

No, my 2GB contract was moved to 3GB on the 9th already. Long before Afrihost anounced their 3G products.

I'm less than a year in and being told this is a legacy product! WTF!!!???

So migrate to one of the newer smart plans, it's free as long as you migrate sideways or upwards.

Vodacon luring more people to trap them with that ridiculous OOB shark.

No thanks!

My Vodacom 2GB contract, that's now 3GB stops working when I run out of data, no OOB shark here

The only mobile data that will interest me is top-up or uncapped. No OOB shark to worry about.

Vodacom what about your customers who are not on Data contracts using VAS Month-to-month Re-occurring data bundles with their voice contracts and Data SIM's. The only specials are Promo up to 2Gigs and nothing bigger. The bigger carry a price tag of 5Gb = R789/10Gb = R1440 Vat Incl. Vodacom your are becoming conspicuous by your SILENCE in this inquire.

It is understood that this additional value forms part of Vodacom’s drive to add more value to customers depending on their individual profiles.

Why exclude some products then? Were those customer's profiles not good enough?

Vodacom spokesperson Nomsa Thusi said that they are rewarding our loyal contract customers by proactively moving them to plans or services that offer them more value at no additional cost.

Again, why only some packages? What about the rest? Not loyal enough?

FU Vodacom FU!

When I took out Mygig2 data contract, I opted for the top-up option where you can't exceed your allocated data. However, you forfeit your 2gig after hours data. I would rather do the top-up than fall victim to their OOB shark.

They'll just keep extending it, the companies launch products on "promotion" to avoid having to get the new rates approved by ICASA first.

Nah- they'll cancel it with as much warning as they initiated it- leaving you out in the cold frigid waters of the OOB Shark.

Thinking you have 5GB but you now only have 2GB...

3GB OOB =R6k for VC
nomnomnom

Mobile internet is still too expensive in SA.

Vodacom with another "promotion" - still isn't financially feasible.

8ta is still the best value - 10GB at 199 p/m.

Let me check what Afrihost has to offer.

So people complain that promotions only benefit new subscribers but when they update the clients that have already been paying out of their ass for data to updated packages, people still seem to complain.

No, because only SOME people benefit. Not everybody. All good and well for VC acting like Santa Clause, but its like Santa handing out gifts to a bunch of little children, but leaves out one or two kids who gets zilch. If somebody misses out (for no good reason) on some "act of kindness" they have all the right to complain.

I'm on a top-up data contract and I get night owl data.

Take a top-up data contract, no OOB shark there. Also technically the MyGig2 is still on "promotion" for R149/m and has been for the past, what like 3 years now...

They increased the replacement Smart packages recently but not mine ...

Yes cause they are discontinuing the old smart plans, just switch to one of the new ones already.

Really? Then why doesn't Ockie or JvZ say so?

Migrations sideways or upwards have always been free on Vodacom, I changed my contract from one of the older ones to the newer ones a few months ago, didn't cost a cent to migrate.

I have emailed Nashua to enquire.

But I don't understand why this is not made clear. How am I suppose to guess this? I asked JvZ directly several times incl when the new Smart packages were upgraded recently. Maybe has me on ignore

It is that new "stealth" approach to reward existing customers that Vodacom recently announced. ;)
