Massive free data increase from Vodacom

CellC rules when it comes to data AND coverage. 8ta has a bit better data pricing but k@k coverage. Vodacom has better coverage but k@k pricing. Is out of bundle still R2000-00 a gigabyte? If YES then Vodacom will still loose customers. Did you check their 2012 financial report? Apparently Vodac@c 'adjusted' the subscriber figures for better representation :D WTF Vodacom listen to me my dear: You'll have to keep on adjusting if your data pricing does not SUBSTANTIALLY improve.

I think you ought to know by now that people view Vodacom as the new Telkom:
due to Vodacom's atrocious behaviour in the past (time and time again, in fact), people simply hate VC (more accurately, the hate is directed at the VC-MTN duopoly - consider, for example, your ridiculous and rapid MTR increases when you guys heard a third MNO was going to enter the market).
Now, whenever you (VC) are in the news, it leaves people with a really bad taste in their mouths, irrespective if what you're doing ostensibly constitutes "good" news.

It's gonna take a long time to rid yourself of that stigma. And a lót of effort. Look at how Telkom appears to be coming to the party. You could take a page out of their book in improving your image.

ps: By "you/your" I mean Vodacom, I do not mean you (JvZ) personally.

Yes getting raped as well. Just waiting for my contract to end before cancelling. About to cancel one next month and another a few months later.

Luckily I also got the Afrihost promo.

at least its a step in the right direction... i guess its like been said, like with Telkom, folks have been pd-off with Voda so long, they cant see any good... gonna take a while.
its odd why such big increases for some packages, and none for others, imo a few megs extra to the 1Gb packages wouldve been nice too... perhaps its cos the 1Gb package recently had a price reduction if i not mistake?
But good move in any case Vodacom, theres bound to be many grateful users out there... keep it coming!
 
It is definitely a great move, however you still lost a lot of customers due to people moving to CellC and 8ta for their better data offerings.

So essentially, the closer someone gets to the end of their contract, the more data they're going to get... Once they re-sign, drop that amount again.
 
Yes the focus seems to be on prepaid and data. Why is voice just a cash cow?
 
How did it happen that MyMeg 500 MyGig2 were the same price? Was one launched long before the other?
 
So people complain that promotions only benefit new subscribers but when they update the clients that have already been paying out of their ass for data to updated packages, people still seem to complain.
 
The problem is that they have assisted some of their customers - not all. This is just a continuation of the previous issue.

These deals seem to be data contracts only. Not voice contracts with data.
 
do something about your bolt on prices, and you will eat back into Cell C

Or you could just continue to fail...
 
Vodacon luring more people to trap them with that ridiculous OOB shark.
