Scare tactics and lies from SANRAL, it's not gonna happen. They know they will get their asses sued to hell and back.
 
If anyone would like to test out some plate escape technology, Tander and I kinda know a guy or two who will gladly do the testing for us. Cameras and all. Real world tests from the guys who make 'em... :D

This sounds to me like you have a plan?

Not using the roads is not an option. Our tax monies (in various forms) have already paid for these roads. Therefore I will drive on them as I wish. I won't pay for the tolls either. As far as I am concerned all the taxes us motorists have to take on should be paying for these roads in the first place.

It a dam cheek that the Government think they can get away with this. What makes me more angry is the bloody sheep who line up to buy tags and just pay into the Government's scams. No wonder they devised this whole scheme - they knew they would get away with it. Typical, South African attitude: "Can't do anything about it, so just pay"

No. **** that. I will not be a part of it. :mad:

I can see sanral just streamline the throwing out garnishee orders on everyone... you wont even see the money being taken.

Well considering how the governcrunts have legislated scamral out of the national credit act, it wouldn't surprise me if they could bypass this requirement too soon.

eTolls are sidestepping the NCA as it is, pretty sure it's an easy step to get around this too.

EDIT: Gosh darn it, sinbad is the fastest gun in the west!
 
Nah. Can't bypass that law imo. Will always be a judge who grants it as a determination of affordability must be ruled on in terms of the law. It's very nature requires a legal judgement...

Exempting SANRAL from the NCA is easy..

Exempting SANRAL from having to go to a judge for a garnishee order is not quite so simple... it would involve changing a fair chunk of law... and it would introduce massive loopholes if not done correctly.

Since when did that stop them?
 
The fact of the matter is they are threatening us with criminal records. That is usually enough the get enough compliance. The few people who they will make an example out of will force more compliance. At the end of the day they will sit with 70% compliance i imagine and that would be good enough for them

Yep, my plan is to make the system unworkable. I will do the same as GaryVDH. I won't get tagged, and I will wait until the very last second to pay. I will also nitpick every possible thing I can.
