I for one will be using alternative routes as much as I can. I think we need to consider that the alternative routes, although longer and congested, will also play an essential role in the downfall of the e-toll. If there is less traffic on the highways, it will mean less transactions, which in turn means less money for the highways. Or at least, that is what I gathered from the article on the Portuguese toll situation. A combination of the two will certainly make the entire system unworkable.
