Mbeki slams 'shameful' attacks

No not at all. But if we all stand on the side of the field and shout out the things that we see go wrong will it improve the situation? Maybe we will achieve more if we shout out some solutions. Or even better get of the stands and join the game?

Do YOU write mbeki's speeches?
And by the way you would not want to hear my solutions, in spite of how effective they would be.

I'm truly sorry I don't fit into your ideals :o Tough being an individual here!

I have an internet connection, great way of staying informed!

Nope you can please have and act on your own ideals. my responce to your statement was made in the context of the rest of this thread.

You see Rozier I never asked for your solutions. My comments were directed to those that just quote news and make comments on it that does nothing to address the issue. It seems that they just want to throw oil on the fire, create fellow instigators, a bit of sensationalism. I have yet to see them respond with their actions as they have asked me to do.

My point is simple. Let’s do something – even if it seem trivial.

if anything, these attacks and the lack of response by thabo, should be the last straw for mbeki. i dont see myself as pro zuma or very politcally involved but its time for him to go. telling people to "welcome foreigners" doesn't save lives.

So we should be forced to provide solutions to problems if we are to post news articles in the relevant section? Do you have any idea how ludicrous that statement is!? Are we not allowed to comment on current news without having an opinion regarding the solution? If this were the case, we should just stop interacting with each other completely including talking to one another, unless of course we want to talk or post potential solutions to our world's problems!

*Remember, do not engage with one another unless you are problem solving. General chit chat is not tolerated!* /sarcasm

Careful Capetownguy! I see no solution posted by you above! PJS does not like this and might throw another hissy fit unless we conform to his standards of communication. Your opinions mean nothing unless it is an opinion regarding a potential solution to ensuring world peace!

"We dehumanise ourselves the moment we start thinking of another person as less human than we are simply because they come from another country."

but how much did he really do to protect our borders better?

and how much is he really doing for farm murders or said about farm murders

""South Africa is not and will never be an island separate from the rest of the continent," he said."

so what is he saying here, that he will make it even easier to let foreigners cross the border?

"South Africa is not and will never be an island separate from the rest of the continent," he said."

Based on how the rest of Africa is faring, and behaving, I think it should be.

A nice, very high, very strong wall along the entire length of SA's borders, manned and patrolled, with lethal force, and a serious no-man's land between it and everything else, would be a good start towards fixing SA.

I would not mind my tax money going towards this cause :D:D

This is a foolish argument. Read it again this morning, but first read the whole thread. Maybe the context will then become clear to you?

DJStealth what's up man? Follow (or more importantly - Understand) the debate and then make coments.

Agreed, SA is the country best placed geographically to achieve this too.

Now people have to 'do something'. Actually creating the awareness is doing something. Leaping to conclusions is doing something.

Frankly your suggestions for some of us to do something smacks of the 'positives'. You'd rather we didn't read the news and pretend all is just fine and not to worry as someone is doing something.

As for getting me to 'do something' - come make me.

Can't agree with you more that creating awareness is actually doing something - but awareness of what. I suppose what I am on about is how this is done. To me some of the threads on this forum have no other purpose as to incite negative emotions.

How do you get to your point that I would "rather we didn't read the news and pretend all is just fine and not to worry as someone is doing something." Did you actually read some of my post's?

And as to "come make me". What's that. Sound like a childish challenge. I have no interest in forcing anyone do anything. Your choice it is.

But please with what I read in your post please just explain your sig to me: "No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood".

Yeah - that reading thing - the 'positives' would rather nobody read the news and have taken to banning it in their own households. The reference was along the lines of the 'positives' wishes so not 'you' and in 'you singular', but rather the plural 'you' of the positives. Your writings have tended to follow their pattern so apologies for the tar brushing.

And the 'come make me' was a deliberate statement along the lines of the school playground type chatter. Which is where most of the discussion borders. You say you have no interest in forcing anyone to do anything yet you always ask what they are doing about it. That line of reasoning is just as childish as my taunt, which was rather clever in the overall context, even if I say so myself.

As to my sig. (Breathes in deeply for another blast on my trumpet). It is the most meaningful sig on this site. There are problems, whether with Teklom gouging it consumers, Eishkom continuing with its insistence on employing idiotic employees and advisors, and the general mayhem and chaos that is everyday life in this country. My sig could be used as a description of government, they caused the crap but then deny their role in it. Or it could be self descriptive - I see the flood, but it isn't my mess to clean up. And it isn't there because I am on a crusade. But if you find meaning in it, and I think you do, then it has achieved its purpose in getting someone to just stop and think.

Skinner you are one angry person. I suppose you have your reasons for feeling like you do. I need to ask you what you achieve by just quoting these news articles, making a statement and then just leave it at that.

You are right, we should do something. Im all for a hostile take over
You start, im right behind you.
