Can any of you boffins out there help with locating a media player that can record ?

There was a 3.5" HDD enclosure thingy for sale at one of the online stores that offered a one-touch-record function, as well as USB input last month but it has since vanished... or I cannot find it. It sold for around R900 then.

I know there is the whole medi8r bang-shoot available, but I am looking for a much cheaper alternative for kids movies and TV recording.

If you can point me in the direction of something similar or something better... it would be much appreciated.

Fanx, ta, and baie dankie.

LOL...

Indeed. It is also a bit over the top. It is going to be used on a 72" CRT TV, by sub 8 year olds to watch their stash of filims. I am soooo tired of the drama of scratched discs and missing movies.

I remember seeing an enclosure somewhere that seemed to be ideal... cannot remember the name or such, but you pop in the drive, connect the cable and your are set to go. Had a big red button on the front that you could press to record whatever was connected to the input... kinda easy for them to record Puppy in my Pocket and such. Not hi-def, but perfect for the yung-uns and their needs.

I will do the google-thing again and see.

Just thought that the boffs here might be able to put a make to this model or suggest something similar.

Thanks for the input.
