Messi vs Ronaldo

Messi Tips Ronaldo To Win Ballon D'Or

Ballon d'Or nominee Lionel Messi has tipped his rival Cristiano Ronaldo to claim European football's most prestigious individual award.

Mikel Arteta: Lionel Messi Is Simply Unbeatable

The former Real Sociedad and Rangers player has been watching Lionel Messi tear defences apart this season, and he has simply said that the Blaugrana winger is 'unbeatable'.

He told journalists, "It is as if someone commands him from the stands, like a video game. I have never seen a human run with the ball at that speed.

Messi put in another sublime performance last night. There is no doubting who the greatest player in the world is.

Looking good for Barca. They have two of the leading goal scorers in the league so far.

Eto is on 14 goals and Messi is on 9.

Heading into Xmas i would say that Messi has completely blown Ronaldo out of the way. I would say when comparing the two, he has won the first half of the season.

Anybody disagree?

Messi is already on 15 goals and has made an impact in every game his played in.

For once you might be right.

Ronaldo did miss the 1st month and a half recovering from knee surgery. But whatever makes you happy.

That will be the manure excuse come end of the season. The guy missed 2 games, yet the way they carry on you would think he missed 10 games.

Most of last season messi was either injured or recovering from injurey, yet his still in the running for the ballon dor (not saying he will win it).

If he stays fully fit there is no chance that anyone can compete with him.

A month and a half is a month and a half. If you don't understand why that makes a difference in a comparison with a player who has played every game, then I cannot help you.

If Ronaldo played that month and a half, the situation would be the same. he wouldnt have been able to match Messi.

That is your opinion. Considering his operation, Ronaldo has done pretty well since his return.

Whatever he does, you will say Messi is better, so it does not matter anyway.

It must hurt that your amazing Ronaldo is been made look average to Messi this season. Last season Messi would make Ronaldo look average as well.

Normally I would not even compare the two.

I am not Ronaldo's biggest fan, specially after getting Rooney sent off in the WC and the debacle with Real in the summer. But I'd rather have him play for us than against us.

I never claimed he was the best in the world nor that he should or shouldn;t win this or that award.

You have the obsession with him, not me.

Well, he just tried to score with his hands.

Yes, he is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best in the world...

I don't think he was trying to score. Looked like he thought the whistle had gone for the foul on the City defender.

The officials had a terrible game all round.

But still, 1-0 it is :)

Did Ronaldo think he was a volleyball player?

Even if the whistle was blown, you DO NOT catch the ball in the box!!

I think Ronaldo messed up and is trying to convince people the whistle was blown. Why didnt any of the other players hear it?

Point is, that is what HE thought. He was not trying to score. He could have had a clear header on goal if he had not used his hands.

The ref had a poor game, and that was a poor decision.

They analysed the replay on skysports and there is no whistle also they agree he should have been sent off.

I know there was no whistle but he thought there was. That is way different to trying to score a goal with your hand.

Look, if he had tried to use his hand to score then I would say, fine, give him a 2nd yellow. But that decision, was poor.
