As we all know loadshedding isnt great for standard 12V 7ah lead acid batteries in Alarm systems.
I recently purchased one of these DC mini router ups's to ensure my wifi stays on during loadshedding:
mybroadband.co.za
And I was wondering if these same devices can be used to power an alarm system instead of a battery since they are both 12v dc?
Is it possible to completely unplug the alarm AC, and have one of these dc mini ups in place of a lead acid battery (ie this device would be plugged into the wall ac, and then connected to the alarm panels battery connectors using a connector seen here https://www.electromannsa.com/products/dc-male-power-connector)
I dont know anything about voltage, current etc but im thinking that the above device may not supply enough current so I'm looking for some advice... I know the official solutions are to use the "Sherlo Tronics Battery Backup Power Supply 12V" but im trying to get away from lead acid batteries

Keep your router on during load-shedding with these cheap backup batteries
For as little as R595, South Africans can get a small uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to provide backup power to their wireless Internet connection during load-shedding.
