So I'm finally upgrading my old build. Linky
Intel Atom N330., built in 9400GM GPU. Built in Wifi, HDMI etc DSC_0259.jpg

Has only been used as download server. Struggled a bit with HD Media. Up for sale btw, offers welcome.

Will be used as:
» Media Server
» Download machine
» No gaming at all
» Mini ITX form factor.Smallest case possible.
» Machine will at most be downloading and playing HD media.

I'm thinking about this build:

Case: Cooler Master Elite 110 -R570
Ram: 4GB DDR3-1600mHz -R503
GPU: On Board
CPU: Intel i3-4330 3.5gHz -R1698
Motherboard: ASRock B85M-ITX -R1229
PSU: Found an unused Gigabyte 700w. Going with that.

Machine will be on 24/7. Will be using existing HDD's (2x2TB)
All suggestions welcome. Budget is +/- R5000.00

Will get Wootware to match pricecheck.co.za prices.

Thanks!

Have you thought of using an amd apu? An i5 really isnt necessary for what you want to do with the machine.

True, will most probably go with an i3.

Which APU do you and Gelid have? Anyone has any experience with the AMD A6-6400K? Difficulty finding a suitable Mini ITX AMD board...

Machine will be running Windows 7.

Check the power consumption of the AMD though. i5 is completely overkill.

Also think about using utorrent on an android device for downloading (if you do torrent). It uses next to no power.

Don't torrent at all actually. Have used uTorrent on occasion on my phone thou for the odd download.

Going with the i3. Found a old PSU as well. Some Gigabyte 700w. Overpowered I know, but hey -- its currently collecting dust so why not :)
