Hi

I have a stupid problem. When I view my ex HDD in COMPUTER within Windows 7 64bit. It shows there is 99GB of data on drive. When I click on the drive there is NOTHING on it. Now I know it must be something simple but for the love of all that is holy I cannot think of what I need to do for these files to appear. I must just say that before I copied the data on this drive it was formatted the whole thing.

HELP ASSEBLIEF :p

You MIGHT have a virus that is hiding the files. What anti-virus are you running at the moment?

To view hidden files; go into the hard drive click on the toolbar that says 'tools' then choose 'folder options' and then click on the 'view' tab. Now check 'show hidden files and folders' and un-check 'hide protected operating system files' click 'apply' then 'ok'.

It will be worthwhile to download MS Security Essentials Anti-Virus. it is free, effective and light on the system.

Goodluck

you have formatted the drive before that you are trying to read?

IE:
format
store
take out drive
try to read?

(if so, it's not impossible but is a bit of work...)

and then attrib -a -h
Why would he want to clear the archive flag?

I'd go with:
attrib -s -r -h *.* /S /D
This will remove all the system flags on the entire hdd though...so there might be a few extra directories shown that weren't shown before.

Connect the drive to a linux machine and try to view the contents. If that fails then there are further steps to take.
