Modem won't sync on ADSL Self-Install

I have ordered a line on behalf of a client, and after two days Telkom SMSed my client to say the line was ready to continue with self install. So I got on my bike and zipped over there with a brand new router only to find it won't sync. So Telkom said it was the router and that my client must buy a router from them. So I went back there with my personal router to test and guess what, it won't sync. So Telkom said we were doing something wrong, sent out a technician who "tested" the line and said there was nothing wrong with the line and all was ready for Self Install. So we plugged in the router and guess what... yep... no sync.

Now what to do? Because Telkom are telling him the problem is with his ISP, me. How do I fight this with Telkom, when I sit for 1:30 minutes and more waiting to speak to an agent who can never help anyway?:mad:
 
okay, I run an ISP, I know about the VERIFY page... the problem lies in that my client can't connect to that page if he can't connect to the telkom guest account. he can't connect to the guest account if the router won't sync...

Can you not do it for them?
 
BTW: the client took the modem next door to try on their line and it "synced in seconds"...
 
Could a defective POTS filter be responsible for it not syncing?

Telkom tech's an idiot. Make sure you're all on the same page,schedule a meeting with telkom and let them bring a router that syncs.

Had this quite a few times.
 
been on the line with Telkom 4 times tonight in 2 and a half hours non stop... the call just get's cut each time

@rebel998, it's not possible to get Telkom Tech to come when I am can meet him, they only come when they want to come, they don't do scheduled meetings.

I had this recently with a friend.

The ADSL has not been activated yet.
