But being a member of MyBB we expect forumites to be more informed and do research before dropping that much cash on a cable. Shame on you Gary.. :D

It's OK.. it wasn't cash... it was a severely overdrawn credit card! :D

I'm just wondering if the quality of the HDMI cable that comes with the HDPVR is any good. I was considering getting a Monster or 1 thats more reputable but now I might just stick with the 1 I have...if its good enough.

So, I had to pay an additional R1700 for the 4 meter HDMI cable over and above the R5999 for the LG 32 inch full HD LCD Screen.

Did I get ripped off on the cable?

I hope it came with a 25 litre jar of vaseline :D

When it comes to digital interconnects do not buy in to silicon snake oil.

Sheez, I bought a 15m HDMI cable for R500, which works like a charm. It turned out that I only needed a 3m cable though. So if Garyvdh is still looking, he can take mine for a bargain

They refunded me :D

And I got a 5 meter Belkin cable at Incredible Corruption for a fraction of the price!

I must say though, the quality of that Monster Cable was excellent. Gonna try now the Belkin one and compare the quality... kids are on the computer though

You won't see any difference...and if you do, then it's the just placebo effect.

no, it's my computer. It's about 5 meters away from the TV. I'm using XBMC as a media player from my computer.

I bought a perfectly good HDMI cable from the toy shop in Sandton City for R150 (2m). They keep it for PS3's, and that should be fine for you.

Why would 2 meters work fine, when I need a cable that is at least 5 meters?
