Or...*gasp* the government get involved in REAL job creation... oh wait... that means they'll have to w-o-r-k.... strange concept to them.

I agree 100%, if BEE is "failing" it's because the government has failed to create new jobs. Why fire experienced long term employees for an inexpienced BEE person?

It could be argued that BEE is creating more jobs cause 3 unskilled people have to be employed to do the work of 1 skilled person...
 
One or two valid comments, but unfortunately there well thought comments are undone by the prejudiced ramblings of others. I had to struggle to get through some of the comments because they were absolute nonsense. Some people need to get out and meet others off all races. I work with very competent people of all races, so to genaralise about the "superiority" of whites is ignorant. Rather make balanced well thought out comments, and people like myself will take the time to read and contemplate them, not just to dismiss them offhand as the ramblings of a prejudiced individual. This could/would lead to us learning from each other!

Maybe we think we're superior cause the government thinks we are.... All you hear about is the skilled workers are leaving the country - then all you hear is how the whites are running away from this country, put two and two together.... and then you hear about all this "Employ more blacks" crap...
 
I said there were valid comments but if you want to convince other people of your point of view or if you just want them to contemplate your point of view, then just comment in an unprejudiced way. Otherwise all you have is a thread where people just post there ramblings and a decent discussion is not held. Maybe you don't care, but then what is the point. Your *yawn* is exactly what i feel when reading the same old comments. I am switching off and heading to Forries for a well deserved beer!
 
Have you ever thought these comments are actually caused by the crap we, as white people, have to deal with from the government?

This government is creating more racists everyday. They want to continually remind us of how different we are, eventually we'll all realise it.

Hear Hear.
When companies have written policies excluding white males (and only them) from being employed, it is racist.
One can only think it is from fear of not being equal to them, that blacks find it necessary to have this "protection".

EDIT: and before people start claiming "the white bosses would not hire blacks otherwise" blah blah, do tell me why government departments still have AA policies when most of the senior managers are black?
 
It also doesn't create a 'competitive' work environment for blacks - because a person is black - they know it will be quite easy for them to get another job if neccessary. Why work hard if you know you can get another job when the need arises
 
I heard one company is even giving each of their new BBBEE appointees R2Millon in shares

Look at the other countries in Africa... The days of Africa too are numbered.

Funny thing is, a friend of mine is looking at going to Botswana or Mozambique - they are only too happy to have white farmers.

The problems lies with the incompetent people of all races that companies are forced to hire in order to meet BEE quotas.;)
 
I know a lot of you are youngsters so you may not be aware of this. In the 70's many companies/unions had rules that prevented them from retrenching staff or firing them for incompetence. 99% of the employees of the company I worked for were white and we had a large number of incompetent white people, the same was true in Government departments. They were dead wood and we could not get rid of them.I will say this again, yes the current government have made mistakes but they also do good. Dealing with the receiver of revenue used to be a nightmare(apartheid days), now they are world class. We have the best Minister of Finance the country as ever had. I can honestly state that I would rather live under this incompetent government than under the old incompetent apartheid government.
