I tend to agree with this thinking. NA engines are for the long term. I also tend towards the Japs since their engineering is simpler, so less failure points.To be honest the only engine I trust with a turbo is a diesel engine, and not today's high performance twin turbo or quad turbo types, other than that a decently sized engine is much better in my opinion, having said that, in general a turbo is expensive trouble waiting to happen, it's even better if you buy the car new so that you can get rid of it before trouble starts, if you have R100k just stick with something that will never let you down and leave turbos to youngsters who have a lot of money to waste paying car installments.
What would you suggest in a budget of R100k?
