Blackhat 8/10

Fantastic movie, I really liked it, but not the others, they did not know wtf was going on half of the time!

Just a quick question, is The Martian really worth the R70 in 3D in cines? Also, would you rather read the book first before seeing the movie?

A guy at work hates 3d but he saw The Martian 3d and says he actually didn't mind in that movie because they did it well.

^^, also. It wasn't dim or washed out which bothers me about alot of 3D movies so that's a plus but it didn't need the 3D in the first place.

Well apart from allowing the cinema to charge the higher ticket price, I guess.

Thank you for your replies.

Maybe I have too much expectations for the movie. Just afraid I will be leaving the cinemas disappointed.

Go watch it in 3D, it's how it was shot, edited and intended... Movie is apparently better than the book although I haven't read it so can't confirm

Southpaw 7/10

Champion boxer loses everything and makes a comeback.

Good boxing scenes. Some dry bits. The women will enjoy the movie for its drama bits

Self/less (2015) 6.5/10

"A dying real estate mogul transfers his consciousness into a healthy young body, but soon finds that neither the procedure nor the company that performed it are quite what they seem." Clever concept; average execution. Good car chase scene though.

It's such a tense ending that either one will spoil it for the other.

I listened to the book and just came back from the movie and imho...

Book 9/10

Movie 7/10

....because I knew what was coming and you notice all the bits that are missed and changed.

Great movie though, really enjoyed it. If I had the choice and could do it again, I'd rather see the movie before reading the book because the book is a different monster and is much deeper and so much more geeky.
