What is good price to pay for an unused new Huawei B525 router ?

I am overdue for a new router.

Well, used ones go for R900-1200 roughly. So a completely sealed one in a box will be in the range of R2000 most likely.

Takealot is selling it for R 2,399 and that's with a discount of 20% apparently.
Takealot discounts mean as much as ANC promises unfortunately. Very often, when compared to regular pricing from other places you'll notice there's no difference at all or Takealot might even be more expensive.

But it is convenient so I use them anyway.

I spoke to one of the employees at the MTN shop at Benmore Shopping Centre this afternoon who seems to think that it is possible to get these month to month bundles without a router. I'm still not sure whether this is the case but I might visit the shop again next week if I decide to move from Afrihost. MTN might also have some good deals available on Black Friday so I am rather conflicted at the moment.

Same here, was told I have to buy a router from them...although I own the exact same router.

Many thanks for the feedback. This is what I was expecting after hearing similar feedback from other customers. I think the bundles without a router are only available to MTN Business customers.

Its rather a shame that we are forced to buy the router even though one might have and it seems we cannot take sim only option.

MTN network has been solid and reliable with no issues.

That sucks. If you have the money might as well buy the router, use old router and sell the new router.

That way at least you make some of the money back.

Unfortunately every Joe already has a router nowadays.
