MTN auto-renew 1MB bundle

Settle down heathens

MTN explained that subscribers will have to dial *135*6# to opt out of this new auto-renewing bundle on 16 May if they are on prepaid, and 7 June if they are on contract.

What more do you want to hear? Your call1 already told you that "Right now, your airtime is not used when your Data bundle runs out".
The option is to opt in to out-of-bundle rates by replying with yes

You can get to the same settings with your MyMTN app and MTN Menu.

I don't want to opt into out-of-bundle rates. I don't want anything out-of-bundle. I don't want auto-renew. I don't want an auto-bundle. I didn't need to know anything about my airtime. This is about MTN enforcing auto bundles from 7 June that I have no way of opting out of. Have you not followed this thread?

Can you share the source, please?

Go look at the settings options in the mymtn app

No u are not actually, u will be opted in by default. As opposed to before. If u dont reply to the option to opt out, u will be opted in

If you have read this in #17, it states that his airtime not getting used for out of bundle data:

"Call 1:
The operator scolded me for not reading an SMS that was apparently sent out in March with a code to disable this. I called BS! Then she gave me the code and said I can use it to opt-out. Code: *135*5*10# (WTFFFF?) So I tried it, and all I got was a message saying:

"
Right now, your airtime is not used when your Data bundle runs out.

Do you want to opt-in to out-of-bundle rates?

1. Yes
2. Exit"

Got the same message, was more than a bit tiffed because there wasn't an opt out presented at the time.

Also, I've been getting continuous pop-up requests on my phone saying my service provider wants to change my settings - assuming internet settings on my phone - I live in the Northern Suburbs WC, anyone else getting this?

I've actually thought about changing over to another provider... problem is -in this country- you are screwed whichever way you go supplier wise.

So at this point I suggest when you go for your phone contract in SA, go and buy a litre of personal lubricant as well... you are gonna need it.

Whoah whoah whoah! Why are you being so rude? I enquired about the impending auto-renew function (that has now been scrapped), not my current settings. I joined this discussion to share my experience and see if others had found a solution. You've been on the attack since I posted. Why?

PS. I am blonde and FABULOUS, pencil d**k!

I humbly apologize for my rudeness and the misunderstanding of your original question.
