MTN Bill?

I've asked MTN to tell me what I used 303,188,090 bytes on my CELLPHONE - i.e. no connection to a PC - just data on my cellphone.

I just checked my bundle for this month, I have 59MB free, and 6x minutes left - so I'd like to know how my entire 100MB bundle was used up in 7 days last month, when, after 20 days this month I have only used 41MB - running the exact some phone, with the exact same settings.

Well - I tried to explain to the uneducated fool on the other end of the line - he simply couldn't grasp the concept that I don't download 25MB of email headers on my CELLPHONE in one session. He kept on talking about a PC - and couldn't understand that the data was for use on my cellphone and not PC.

Eventually he said hold-on, and I suppose he went to discuss with a higher up idiot - after about another 10 minutes the line went dead.

When I do cancel, I know these idiots are suddenly going to transfer me to retentions or something, who will try and convince me that if I don't leave the service will change...

Well on my side of the fence Vodacom have been struggling to figure out why my second DataSIM cannot connect to the internet APN but can connect to the iphone APN. I have however not been chasing them that hard, because the iphone APN does the job. They have however been calling me back, albeit in 2 week intervals.
 
Well what do you know second call for the day and they claim to have solved my problem. Will have to test this evening :)

Thanks for the offer of assistance. I was going to contact you eventually if things dragged out but the work-around (iphone APN) was working and I thought I let the normal channels prove themselves. :)

The problem seemed to be that the APN settings had not filtered down to the SIM, so because I had requested to be provisioned for the iphone APN after adding the second DataSIM it went through, but internet APN for some reason was not there from the start.

Yep - their data billing billing is insanely inaccurate!

I've been trying to sort out June / July last year - when they took down the base stations in my area and I had NO signal - I managed to triple my usual monthly bill...amazing innit?

And suddenly in Nov and Dec - I managed to clock 6 gigs in a week?!?!
 
My remaining free minutes and data bundle have been reported as 56mb since I started checking last week on 16202 - today I log onto MTN Active, and I see they stopped updating on the 25th of February... just another way they trick you into more money.

MTN are common thieves.

I wonder if you can record the call stating as of : "2009/03/16 you have xxx left" - and when you get your bill, hold them legally responsible for giving you incorrect information.
 
I'm also waiting for my Bill. I already paid it on the 7th of March but I haven't seen it.

Now how could someone query a mistake on the bill if you get your bill after the amount of days you have to query something?
 
Its that time of month again, will I receive my bill this month? Anyone want to put money on it?!?

so them louts have not bothered to send me
any itemised bills statements for dec & jan, plus before then
they have only been sending a statement even though i pay for itemised billing.

so today i decided that enough is enough & ask for all the missing itemised bills and the ones they never sent in dec/jan. they promise to send me the stuff (they actually emailed a few mins after), but say i will be charged. i politely tell them i pay for them to send me the stuff every month and i'm simply ask them to deliver a service i have already paid for.

the call centre parrot tells me i will be charged as that's how he's been told (to recite to me). i politely ask him to ask mtn to refund me the missing months & then i will be most happy to pay for the billing after they are sent. parrot goes to ask his super while i keep my cool on the line. comes back to the line & says no charge sir.
 
ROFL - If they did that to me I'd loose it - I can't stand being charged for something I don't get.

It still amazes me how mistakes are always in their favour.

I think that birdy was on some where good drugs ;) a Company like MTN will allow a 3rd party to do their billing ? The billing which contains the most confidential part of the clients info ?
