MTN Black Friday Discussions

Vodacom blocks dual sim DeviceS ive read here and heard from a person using a P9 lite (from vodacom) that the second sim is blocked. If its the p9 lite cant remember for sure but it was a dual sim on contract from them.

Edit: i mean the dual sim functionality of phones purchased from them, not dual sim usage.
Correct vodascum disable second sim slot via firmware to sustain their ridiculous Oob theft system

With the Huawei P9 lite there is a workaround for this. Just unlock the bootloader and install another region firmware that enables the dual SIM. Huawei is so simple, you can unlock and relock the bootloader without worrying about warranty.

O ok, to be fair that's too much work for users who dont root etc..

Good person, you got any use for that paltry recurring bundle which tops out at 500MB? Hook me up please if you don't. It's only used up after the 50GB.

I am!! Use phone as personal hotspot. Get the whole family to connect! Downloaded a few episodes this morning via pc/wireless. Came down at an average speed of 7MB/s, 1.5gb in total... Still got 9gb left with 50gb incoming on the 14th...

Saturday morning I was shopping with the family but didn't want to miss 7's rugby. Took my air with, connected to hotspot and watched via Supersport app. Was liberating to know the hour or 2 of streaming would barely make a dent in my allotment of mobile data.

Really enjoying this package so far with one exception, iMessage and facetime won't activate on the new sim. It's an international sms issue. I've spent the last week trying to get someone at MTN to address the issue but no luck!!! 1555/808 is basically talking to a machine. To get a human to pick up is challenging. I'm tired of trying quite frankly. I've hit them up on twitter too but they don't seem particularly interested. FRUSTRATING!!!

Thinking of ways to burn through this package. I'm new to this Kodi TV box thing, any idea if I stream at 720p, how much data can one consume in an hour?
