MTN Black Friday Discussions

Tried my sim out in my B315. Impressed with the results... I have a Telkom LTE uncapped account with a Poynting external antenna aligned to the most suitable Telkom tower. Looks like MTN and Telkom are sharing that tower. I don't get the same performance from Telkom though.

Just thought I'd ask here, anyone keen to take over a Telkom Mobile 10gb + 10gb night surfer data contract?

It was promotional pricing so not available as a normal contract at that price. Still has approx 13 months left on the 24 months contract, last I looked it's about the best value available currently apart from this Mtn deal.

MTN 3G speeds in Durban, not so bad.

3G in Durban isn't bad but in some places LTE gets you 70Mbps. Anyone that can beat 70Mbps in Durban, post speed test and location of that speed please. Dying to get at least 100Mbps.
 
Anyone's dual call activated yet?

And Nadir, is yours still working perfectly?
 
My contract was processed on the 28th of November for the cyber Monday but only got it activated last Wednesday.

No promotional data was added but after phoning 808 they said I'll only receive my normal contract pro rata and only next month (14th) will the promo data and minutes kick in?

Doesn't make sense to me, does anyone know anything?

It can take upto a week to reflect. Wait till tomorrow, then call again.
 
The problem is that the contract activation date is not on the 28th so they won't automatically add the promo bundles.
Get the store to log a request with provisioning and attach the original contract documents as proof that the contract was taken out on the 28th.
Trust me......Ive been there.

Thanks. Will do, it was done via mtn direct will I still need to go to a store?

Awesome that helps loads thanks, will wait for Wednesday / Thursday first then phone if they available.
 
@Sayf777: im in exact same boat sort off.

I took 2 sims from the store. One sim was working perfect and other never got the data (did cybermonday). Phoned 808/emailed them/went in store a ton. Still waiting. Going to give a week or 2 max after which going call it and cancel the contract. Tired of waiting and not getting the data.

In your case it's not acceptable if you'd already gone in the store a few times, take it straight to hellopeter.

Though maybe best to do is wait for a few days after new years since in some places there must be barebones staff?
 
Has anyone managed to get their dual call/sims working yet?
