MTN cancels its auto-renewing 1MB data bundle

MTN has backtracked on its plans to launch a 1MB data bundle which renews automatically when a customer's data is depleted.

Last week, MTN said it would launch an auto-renewing data bundle similar to Vodacom’s Data Refill service, which took automatically effect when users depleted their data.

Nope they probably just realized what a shyte and illegal decision they made. Goes to show you might earn millions and have a impressive title but it doesn't mean you know anything...……….

Doubt it was illegal per se, you can be 100% sure the decision was sent through Legal who ok'd the idea as being fully legal.

This was backtracked because people were telling them off, and they would leave MTN...

Nothing illegal about it, it was actually in response to an ICASA regulatory change in Feb that the whole barring and unbarring changes were implemented

They should keep it, so that they don't cut off and frustrate their customers as this was apparently a major concern for them, but instead of charging 40c/MB, make it 1c/MB.
