MTN One Rate cut to 2c/second

So if I talk 5:00. That's R6.

Looks pretty reasonable to me.

Another benefit, is the per second billing, unlike Vodacom. You talk 2:01, you're not billed R2.40 (Vodacom), but R1.22 (MTN). Cool.

Per second billing of 2:01
2c per second x 121 seconds = 242c = R2.42

Per minute billing of 2:01
(2 min and 1 sec scaled up to 3 minutes) x R1.20 per minute = R3.60

Please say you agree otherwise I might be going mad.

Aah, no, one result is MTN billing and one Vodacom from that post...

Cell C is 99c, plus gives you free data and sms. OOB data is 15c / MB
I'm not looking at the call rate only - I want the full package.

MTN - FAIL!

So is his....?

My bad. Logic failure, didn't account for the extra second and mixed up numbers with seconds.
As he's said R0.2 x 121s = R3.60 vs MTN's R0.2 x 121s = R2.42.

No matter what i say or others about mtn, there are people who will support them.

Talking sense, endup being futile to people who just love mtn.

Ok, isn't vc and 8ta promotions.
I dont see promotion here with mtn.
I still would not port from cell c back to mtn mainly due to prepaid data costs

Got to give it to MTN... sneaky marketing tactics... 2c/sec... but actually very informative and honest... when compared to Vodacom's R1.20/min, simply because Vodacom's tariff doesn't tell the full story... it's charged per minute. With an advertised rate of 2c/sec you know exactly what you getting. Now if Vodacom decides to start advertising their rate as 2c/sec... I'd have a problem with that!

2c per second?

When CellC is less than that already...

Way to go for not being better than your competition....

Sorry for you MTN contract customers!

Another reason why i moved to Cell C - same 99c rate they offered to prepaid, they offered to contract customer with some extras thrown in.

I feel sorry for all the Cell C customers where I live. They have endless issues and problems with the network, not mention you still only get Edge so you can't make use of all their great data promotions. The only Cell C shop in town also closed down about a year ago, the nearest one now 60km away.

So how is paying 2c/s better than paying 1.65c/s?

The problem with most people is their mind set.

"I've been with Vodacom / MTN for x amount of years so I'll just renew my contract again and again, people are getting raped by MTN / Vodacom because they are too afraid to stray out of their comfort zone.

MTN One4All is probably the best prepaid deal available given that Cell C's network is extremely unreliable. I've been happy with MTN from a service point of view, so once my contract is done I will be moving to this prepaid plan.

Anyone else done this? Any thoughts?

Come on MTN you are really neglecting your post paid customers which is a steady stream of income

Guess you don't take your phone subsidy into account?

If you do prepaid is more expensive.
