MTN Uncapped Lite for R299

Doesnt sound to bad. I'm setting up my settings not to download any updates.
On the19th of each month I will do a full system update(windows, antivirus ect.) so that my cap only goes for what I meant it to be.
All downloads will be done after my 3gigs are finished.

No, I just meant that if you wanna use it for MP, then conserve it for that. I'm just talking from personal experience as I got this deal last month. Anyway, after the 3gigs you are 'throttled'. Then gaming online becomes literally impossible, let alone local servers. I used about 2.6gb out of the 3gigs and I was immediately throttled. So that was a bit of a kick in the butt, after enjoying MP sessions at night. :) But all in all, it is a pretty swell product. Have fun with BF3 man, someday I wanna get that game too! :)
 
No to sure, but you'll probably have to be patient.

Log complaints on hellopeter and phone the 800 or 808 line and lodge a complaint.

I also wish they could up the capped speed to 1Mbs or something, just my windows updates were in excess of 500mb this month.
And update the rest of us here if you get some love...
 
What free utility do you guys use to track bandwidth / data usage and on which date do you "reset"?
 
So far I think this Uncapped lite is rubbish. The fastest speeds I ever had was 40KB/s. I have never experienced any speed over 1Mb/s. Currently the useless router is so slow that even Google homepage times out. I have wasted time to call MTN coverage, but more than a month later they only promise. Went to HelloPeter, but the only response is the same as Data Coverage: "Sorry, we will phone you".

The next step is legal advice. There is no way that I am paying R329 for this crab PLUS additional Vodacom prepaid data just to stay connected.

Sorry MTN, big fail.
 
Ok firstly, The MTN lite 3G package is absolutely stupid stupid stupid full of #$%&!

It is always slow.

Unreliable.

And I have now just spoken to Nashua mobile to find out why my Lite package isnt working and the operator told me its because my limit has been reached.

So I asked: "what limit?"

She says the call limit on the number.

So I say "there should be no call limit its an uncapped Data modem"

so she says: "Oh, yes there is a problem the last few days with MTN billing uncapped data user on all activity - so I am R600 over my R800 limit but MTN is working to fix this"

Man oh man... internet in this country alone will cause be to imigrate never mind the ANCYL

Got a shock when I checked my unbilled invoice on MTN active today - huge bill - works out to R5.50 per meg!

I wonder if they're giving those of us who took this earlier some extra fair usage. Got my 3 gigs on 20th June, was throttled on 23rd and from yesterday morning I've got unthrottled speed again.
 
Might actually go out and get this.
I mean 40KB/s avg not bad, not a heavy downloader & i am traveling alot these days.
 
I'm actually having a much better month...still got 1MBps last night and average +-300KBps. I've not tracked the data usage, but I've been doing 'normal" things, like a youtube vid once in a while, emails, etc. No torrents of hardcore downloads though.
 
can someone please confirm that once you use your 3gb up you will be billed per mb there after?
 
thanks! sucks having to go the wireless route but cant get adsl in my complex....best offering I can see is this one...just hate the shaping and hope I dont get shaped as bad as some people on here!
