mtn new fair use policy sucks ! the speeds are so damn slow ! this new speed limit restrictions are terrible.previously a 30 mb file took me 5 minutes to download , now it takes 55 minutes ! i am considering cancelling my 2 year contract.is there any legal action us consumers can take against mtn.i rather go to telkom and mweb.the page load speeds are sickening.is there any legal recourse against mtn ? i am not happy with mtn is doing.they supposed to be a responsible company having consumers interest put first.i cant believe this.my previous speeds were great ,now i barely get a connection.

The real lesson here is: Do not sign long contracts!

MTN Uncapped Lite problems this morning

so after downloading for 4 months at unlimited speed on the Lite pacakge, MTN is supposed to give us back the 3 gigs and then limit to 256 kb after the 3 gigs are used.
Well guess what, the whole morning the max Im getting is the old 128. No 3 gigs first and then 256, just 128!
Well MTN you guys rocked with the 4 months unlimited, but you are spoiling it now with this problem...

I was about to phone them about the same problem. Fair enough that my 4 months is over, but give me my 3GB first!!!

I'm beginning to think this was a bad idea. :(

if its to good to be true.... it probably is :p . I just think they going to start blocking ports shaping p2p very soon as the user base picks up or just shape the whole line like you guys are reporting.

Good Luck guys hopefully the mtn rep can resolve this for you :)

On another note. I am looking at getting a do advanced connection. This is up to 1Mb line with 10GB int and 20GB local cap. What would the speeds and latency be like on that compared to MTN 3G?

Okay so after a heap of hassle trying to find out why I'm already throttled even though it's only the 1st day of Fair Usage Policy I've established that I will get my new 3 gigs on my normal invoice date of the 13th. So my previous month start date was on the 13th of last month in which i already used up 3 gigs.

What I find curious is that the policy only kicked in today, meaning that yesterday I was supposed to still be uncapped and that the counter was only supposed to start kicking in this morning. Well apparently not.

Yes yesterday was suppose to be unlimited. From the 13th till 31st did you use 3GB!?
