Let me guess you have neither because your excuse will be you don't sponsor a corrupt government and a monopoly right ?
 
LOL. Does your country have enough court time to listen to MC trying to get people prosecuted? Just asking. So competition not really allowed in SA? Just asking.
 
So not even Rugbypass app is allowed to show rugby in SA. How does that app work in other countries, or are we the only ones with exclusivity (monopoly) surrounding rugby? Should make for an massive comparative article.

Rugby pass is only available in countries who dont have agreement with broadcasters. Not saying I did but if you connected a VPN to Greece you would be able to stream on Rugby Pass, It has the exact same stream as other broadcasters and its buffer free...... So says people using it, not me but people.
 
It's time the govt gets off it's lazy arses, stop taking gifts from you know who and serve the citizens AND save rugby.

But this I do agree with. It is illegal to setup a streaming website and sell subscriptions and access to streams.

It is pretty much like any other piracy offense. It is illegal to sell or making it available or distributing it, but it is not a crime in SA to buy it, be in possession of it, use it wear it or watch it.

DSTV if free to set up one and ask reasonable fees but they have two problems: excessive greed and a outmoded resale model that will drag them under.

Seems they are enriching lawyers instead of allowing SA citizens to see their national team play. Then the MC duits and the lawyers go dit smoking cigars and drinking whisky laughing at the govt and the rug y supporters? Time to end this ...

Well They are implying it, but if you read the article they are going after services that are offering Supersport streams in particular, which is totally fair, in the other news article they are trying to imply that ALL streams are illegal, which they aren't.
 
So my one comment about the stream I used yesterday, it had moments where the stream quality fell off a cliff badly.. but by and large the commentary was good and the stream was mostly decent.

Yeah, many years ago when they hit the R400 mark I realized that they are a company believing steadfast that their viewers have money and that their viewers would pay any amount they charge. I have seen their prices jump to R800+ a month in no time and it still continues.

Well, I did drop them back then. I moved to IPTV services abroad and have not looked back since.

MC have the right to charge under civil rights law, apparently they could only claim the value of the broadcast.

So no criminal law involved if you're not distributing yourself, and last everyone knew nobody has ever been charged for the civil concern.
How are they even going to prove you did it with a VPN anyway?
