I checked RugbypassTV before the game and I got an error: unfortunately this service is unavailable if you are using a VPN.

Dangerous territory - don't want to be accused of aiding....

Let's just say it's impossible for them to keep track of all VPN's and their efforts to keep any identifying impossible.
Some VPN's are better than others...

No, some are actually identifying that a VPN is in use, apparently by keeping track of VPN's used IP addresses.

Another concern is that some VPN's keep some sort of record. Apparently the better ones don't, but can't say all of them.

MC can only EVER claim damages relating to their services and their copyrights. Watching, streaming, or downloading content outside of their services and copyrights they don't own, they can't claim shyte.

If they have exclusive geographical contracts from a sole supplier they can, or so we're told. Never been tested it seems

Urban VPN is another free one that sounds great although they're known to sell your data and keep logs.

They have a license to distribute and broadcast, they don't own the copyright. Watching game of thrones on HBO, instead of DSTV, doesn't make it illegal. As you aren't infringing on HBO copyright as you are legally a subscriber to their service it is only against their terms of service, which isn't illegal.

Watching game of thrones on a DSTV stream not provided by DSTV, DSTV only has claim on using their service illegally, they can't claim copyright infringement as they don't own the copyright. The key word is they have "exclusive broadcast rights" not "exclusive copyrights". They don't own the rugby copyright, only the derivative copyright of their own stream.

No they can't, regardless of what MC want to claim.

That is an issue between MC and the content "owner" as it were.. the end user is not part of that issue in the slightest.
 
Goodluck Onlychoiche.... Most likely these illegal streaming services are hosted on co-located BPH hosting.
