It's streaming so channel is probably the incorrect word.
One concurrent connection with everything 'possible' on.
Obviously if there is something that they can't control like UFC for $80 then there is nothing they can do but pass that on.

But how would they pay for the rights? Same story for R350 you can pick either you get top class rugby, maybe F1, maybe soccer, maybe tennis. Remember they have to pay for the rights, it's not free and they don't dictate the costs.

They created the trend, way back when they thought they where clever, and the world economy was on an up. Now it is on a slump, it is biting them hard.

They should cover their costs, selling broadcast rights to other local Sub- Saharan broadcasters, and advertising. We should be the gravy/cherry on top. Not the main source of revenue.

You mean all broadcasters created the trend? Cause that's how it works, broadcasters buy the rights so they can say look I have the rights to this sport :-). That's how it's been for a very long time.

They should bring back 4 streams so a normal family of 4 can watch their TV in peace and DSTV will increase their premium subscribers overnight.

I am sure if they stopped buying the rights the sellers would be willing to sell them for less. I doubt they'd just say, **** the millions in Africa, we don't need their viewership. Some of the resellers have been gouging. There's a trend where big scammers buy up the rights to resell at ridiculous margins.

Lots of clever people, who outbid their competition by needlessly large margins, because they needed to show they had bigger balls, than the competition.

If DSTV cannot sell enough of those exclusive rights they so gratuously buy, they they should let someone else get exclusive rights, and buy the rights, in the same way they sell rights to SABC, and similar.

And that is why the rights cost so much, cause the sporting bodies know they can charge it cause of that.

No idea, never really tried it, I have these archaic boxes under my TV that allowed me to watch DSTV.
