Human beings don't need to evolve in order to understand what theory means in a scientific context, they need five minutes with a dictionary.

Which is why I cannot fathom why this is such a difficult thing for some people to assimilate.

I mean, I can sort of understand taking issue with evolution, as for many it's a concept that goes against the grain of everything they happen to believe, but understanding what a scientific theory means, is not an impediment to anyone or their chosen belief system. Why is it that deniers of evolution almost universally cannot seem to grasp such a simple concept?

I just don't get it!

You've misunderstood what was being said.

I'm saying the human mind cannot comprehend those 10 million lines of code. I certainly would also make no claims as to the exact contents of those 10 million lines of code. I may have a general idea of what they do and I may even remember some specifics but NOBODY ever claims to have total knowledge of all 10 million lines.

That is a pretty good analogy for our evolutionary history. Nobody claims to know every detail of every part of Earth's history. Nobody even claims to have total knowledge of all the various individual bits of evidence in support of the Theory of Evolution. That doesn't mean the evidence doesn't exist and it doesn't mean the history didn't happen.

What's worse is that they'd quite happily believe any absurd BS their religion teaches them without question, but not even consider scientific theories.

These "students" can come here and attend a Sangoma course. Its much cheaper, the weather is better and you get a free set of bones when you graduate. Then you can cure anything ranging from backache, to devils and can't keep job, let alone penis problems

Evolution is a fact. The theory explains the fact.

More than an engineering student i was at first a physics student,changed over to engineering in my third year only.
So I do understand that evolution in itself is possible and there exists evidence to support this but the total theory of evolution is largely unproven,there are lot of gaps in between.

More LOL. You don't even know what a scientific theory is! It's more likely that you're 6 years old - only someone with the mental capacity of a young child could possibly dismiss evolution in the manner that you do. The amount of evidence FOR evolution is beyond overwhelming, and the amount of evidence against it is ZERO.

You'd rather believe sick, BS religious dogma over hundreds of years of scientific research and insurmountable evidence. You call me a coward, but you're the one who is too afraid to challenge and question their own beliefs. Now THAT is the true sign of a coward.

Ironically to think that the Theory of Evolution is a "theory until proven" is actually what is ignorant.

It's not a "theory until proven". The Theory of Evolution will always be a theory. Just as the Theory of Gravitation will always be a theory. In science theories don't become facts or laws, they are and always will be theories. A theory is just an attempt to explain observations, it can never become anything else. Perhaps go look up the scientific definition of the word "theory" to get a better idea of how it is used and why I'm saying these things. It may help you to understand.

Besides you can't actually prove anything beyond a shadow of a doubt when it comes to science anyway. Nothing in science must ever be beyond question. That is the whole ethos of science. Of all the various aspects of human culture only religion seeks to make assertions that cannot be questioned. Keep in mind though that when I say that things must never be beyond questioning I mean scientifically valid questioning. If you don't have observations that demonstrate that some aspect of current scientific understanding is bullschit but you claim it is bullschit anyway then you're going to be ignored and rightly so because you're being an anti-science irrational crazy person.

I refuse to believe in evilushin, gravity, magnetism and friction. Your infidel "evidence", "observable reality" and "testable hypotheses" are just a plot by atheists. My preconceived notions take priority over what I can see happening righy in front of me. Everyone can decide what's real or not, that's how the world works.

Wow, being irrational sure does take some effort.
