Let's move forward not backward! MWeb CEO said it himself, we cannot go back to capped...

I am streaming Lakers vs Bucks in HD as we type! I cannot be bothered with such petty limits. I use well over 200GIG and pay a much better price than OpenWeb.

MWeb works well for the majority of those who use it including myself! MWeb FTW!

you got to ask - is mweb pulling a fast one, or is the user intentionally bypassing shaping protocols and breaking the rules. Technically speaking, mweb didnt even have to give him a warning.

Also, if users are doing 400gb with no warnings, how much could this user possible be downloading. It seems like a case of one person potentially spoiling the fun of many. I hope he changes his habits, or mweb kick him off. I enjoy my 4mb uncapped far to much to go back to the old pricing models

I'm on 4mb uncapped and happily pulling 100gb-200gb per month. There is no other package (shaped/unshaped, capped or uncapped) that will allow me these speeds during office hours at this price

How come Mweb came back and quickly clarified for us what they meant by "bypassing the shaping protocols" ... but they still couldn't clarify for us what exactly is "excessive usage". Don't you think that is a bit odd?

Who started with the deception? Mweb or the Users? Who is using fuzzy terminology and incorrect definitions? Mweb or the users?
 
Thats fine mweb, well stick to your "when it suits us Rule", then stop advertising your products as uncapped you criminal, far from it
 
Well, it seems as long as you play by the rules, it is quite all right to d/l 200gb a month!
I just want to know if http torrent downloaders(forgot the proper name) are allowed.

Going to apply for MWEB uncapped as soon as Telkom installs my phone line. Aint gonna bitch about it because at R539 I know what to expect and don't live in a dreamworld like some.

Just go for an open web account and save yourself the heart aches. Since when did half a K become petty cash for internet accounts, wow people are such push backs, pay alot for a product, accept **** quality.

Cancel debit order? This company will sue you, get a judgement against you and have you blacklisted for R200 a few months overdue. See Mweb subscriber feedback thread.

I think fair would be around 60%-70% of what your line can handle, so for 384 60 gigs 512 +-80 gigs and 4 meg 400 gigs, I think if you can do more than 400 gigs though then its time to get some sunshine.

I've cancelled my Mweb account and will try Axxess next month. R539 vs R248 (R496 / 2 connections). Why pay R539 when I can pay R248 for a similar service?

People complain profusely about MWEB’s FUP and even service levels, but why not simply move to another ISP?

I fully agree. I also think that if you want to run business protocols (i.e. VPN, Self Hosting and Exchange Mailing) then you should be using a capped, but unshaped service. Uncapped are not for you and thus not appropriate. But then again, the policies should be clearly stated and I think MWeb are still fine-tuning these scenarios. It is a bit unfair for a business to utilise an uncapped account for secure protocols, especially if you can afford it. It is only my humble opinion - but MWebBusiness offer more than one package which can be customised for most small or large businesses out there.
 
I download whatever I want, whenever I want, using SSL and newsgroups. I'm pretty sure I bypass their shaping policy but I don't leave my line constantly downloading and wringing every possible byte out of my connection. I'm a heavy user and I think I'm being pretty fair, and so I think is Mweb...
 
M-Web plays dictator to SMME's that they SHALL lease a bloody expensive Cisco router from M-Web on a 2-year lease...

Please M-Web, drop you BIG DADDY attitude!

There are many SMME's where it is a struggle to make ends meet and even the private user rates require a second look.

SMME's are creating jobs, and every item biting chunks from tight cash flows, could eventually kill such jobs!
