OMG WoW experience this weekend was terrible on Mweb uncapped, look I know it's a shaped service so I've never expected super latency, however 400ms then 3000ms ?? Was there a network problem? My character felt like that dude from that XMen movie who disappeared and appeared here and then. My shaman looked like the Flash who had to stop every now and then to tie his shoe laces.

Ahh sorry did not see this :

This on top of the HORRID experience we've been having lately?
Seriously Mweb is taking a dump all over all of us and we're paying them for it.
My 4mb is akin to a 512kb severely shaped line.
The worst is that I have had this for MONTHS and only now am getting a tiny bit of feedback.
Before posting on this forum the best i got was an Mweb rep saying "A person will email you with a free subscription to WTFast so you can play WoW" and i was livid.
Hopefully Mweb can get a handle on things as i was all too cocky bragging about my 200GB+/month download and now i have to couple that with "Yeah but no games or browsing"
Really worth the money i put in. Like fireworks or paid phone sex with a blind girl.

Bad latency all over, Black Ops, Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings online and Black Prophecy. I mean come on Black ops is local and Im not playing on SAIX servers. Switching to my capped afrihost account immediately solves the problems. It seriously needs to be fixed for good.

I can't log into steam. I tried everything possible. Reboot pc, Reboot router, Reboot firewall

Hi all the IPC outage we have been experiecing have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Regards
MWEB Operations

Was able to actually play last night. Out of interest, was this IPC outage issue also essentially the cause of the latency issues we experienced from last week?

Very hard to say Blustorm. Our IPC links are not single 'pipe' but comprised of a set of load balanced links. One of those links started running errors yesterday and had to be taken offline so that Telkom could carry out repairs.
We also picked up some issues on core routers yesterday which had to be addressed with some emergency configuration changes.
We will continue to keep a close eye on these issues. I can also tell you as part of our network team's tireless efforts (really I don't know when these guys get any sleep) to constantly improve the network that they have various other tasks in the pipeline between now and the beginning of May which are aimed at further optimizing traffic flows and improving on QOS.
I'm confident that whatever the cause of the problems some of you have picked up recently they will not be with us for too much longer.

Thank you, Will and the rest of the MWeb team.

We all bitch and moan when things don't work the way we want, but we rarely say thank you for getting it working again. And before the nay-sayers say "It shouldn't break", I'd like to say that sometimes "$h1t HAPPENS"... and it's the way people handle fixing what is broken, is what counts.

Thank's Blustorm we appreciate the support! Yesterday was definitely a Monday :) As you say sometimes its unavoidable when things go wrong, but we will always use the opportunity to evaluate our response to try and improve on how we recover from these situations and more importantly how we can minimize the impact on you, the customer.

Tom asked if I was leave, the answer is no definitely not :D When we have issues like this to respond to my attention has to in several other places as well and I rely on MWEB Guy to get the word out to you on the forums as to the current status.

Let me just say I appreciate the WTFast account that you organised for me, Will.

It has made no difference and last night and tonight I was not able to do a WoW heroic guild run.

It's pretty sad actually. This is not what gaming is supposed to be about.

MWeb appears to be all about talk and LITTLE action - this has been going on since October 2010 and I must be just one idiot to have hung around this long. Very sad.
