oh poo youlol
If we could actually fly the ships, in the style of Privateer or Freelancer, Eve would be incredible. When is someone going to make *that* game?

I think hereticangel is probably right J0n0 (even if he is lacking a little tact). Please let us know your experience of having that setting on, or off so we can advise other 384k users.
Network Cards
Some network cards also have settings that when changed have corrected these types of issues. First, you need to navigate to your network card properties.
- Click on Start.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Double click on the System icon (in Windows XP, you may need to click Switch to Classic View on the left hand side of the screen).
- Select the Hardware tab.
- Click on Device Manager.
- Expand the section labeled Network Adapters.
- Right click on your network card and select Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab. You may have a Checksum Offload property, if so choose the Disabled option. This may also be listed as Hardware Checksum or RX Checksum.
- You may also have a Speed/Duplex option on the Advanced tab (This may also be listed as Media Type or Connection Type.) Please try changing this to Force base 100 Full duplex. If you have an older router you may need to use base 10 full duplex. This may also be listed as Media Type/Connection Type.
- If you have a Power Management tab in your network card properties, click it and unselect the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" if selected.

Hey will, I changed the checksum offload setting and so far latency's been good since. Didnt touch the "optimize network" setting in wow.
The past couple of days i have gotten 11-12kb/s off nttp (newsservers) during the day and it picks up after 8pm. going up to 38kb/s on my 384 at 1am. Uncapped 384? More like uncapped 128. Gaming will probably be effected too.
Oh yeh, just before you put the blame on telkom.
HTTP it goes at 38kb/s during the whole day so its not their line or ICP or W/E you normally wanna put the blame on.
Why the fck do you shape 384 users? Not like we can download allot anyway. To ISDN speeds....
PS: Stopped playing wow completely and sold my account.
Hi Will
for some reason the latency to lotro have been really bad this weekend
where it is normally +-280 with no loss it seems to be 500+ with 15%+ loss this weekend
is there some issues on the network
I think the team are ironing out some kinks with the new upstream traffic manager in London, which possibly could have caused this. Please let me know if this persists and I'll setup the necessary monitoring with you to do a full investigation. I'm quite excited about the fact that they have this in place now as it's been on the cards for a while and we're optimistic that it should provide an additional level of protection for the more sensitive traffic from the p2p bullies![]()
