Anyone else having the same?

Pings over 1000ms to local & International
50% Packet Loss

Switch to Afrihost Account and all is working 100%

Nope, i'm running fine. NZB are half my capable speed which i am surprised at this time of the night. Pings for me are at 398 - 401ms and 0 packet loss. Call telkom and ask them to reset your port.

and sorry for posting 24 hours after yours (only call telkom if still having problems)

*edit* ok, i need to go to bed...my post was only about 40 minutes after yours :)

Same problem here. Pings are all over the place and throughput sucks. Speedtest.net against Neology server in Midrand showed 0.1 bits per second for the longest time and just gave up mid-way into the test.

Pingplotter to a Norway server shows 386ms average with 10% packet loss to pos0-0-2-1.lon-up1.mweb.co.za (and pings does not tell the whole user experience story).

Not very happy...

still shobby, pings to mybb are 1000ms +. and pings to google are 3000ms +. Speeds are terriable. Afrihost account has no problems!

I have the exact same problem, though my packet loss is closer to 25 or 35%, but ping times are still >500 to any local ip (pings to telkom are obviously way higher).

I have the same problem. especially today... except I have complained about it to MWEB so many times I get no response. Now that we've notified them we're cancellng the ADSL services their attitude has gone very far south!

Don't phone them cause they always BLAME TELKOM, THE MOON, THE SUN, THE DOG... they NEVER ADMIT their internal network is the cause, yet some insiders have confided in me it IS THEIR INTERNAL NETWORK!!

Outage Num:10017
MWEB IPC outage affecting All
ADSL members in all areas may experience slow internet browsing and email. Our engineers are investigating.
Start Date:2011-04-18 07:42:54
End Date:

you ever check there network status?

Another week, another set of fresh issues with MWEB... clearly the poorest performing ISP in the world! It doesn't surprise me they're currently last on the list.
Oh and what, pray tell is an "IPC outage"... is it some cleverly crafted jargon for "we don't know what is wrong" or is it just "we have internal network problems but we're not prepared to fix it right now so STFU"

I know what you mean... my boss is livid because we've had so much crap from MWEB recently and again, this week, more issues. My boss now, as a result does not buy this outage story, and quite frankly neither do I

Fair enough....So why are you still with them?Is it not perhaps time to let your wallet do the talking?

We are in the process of canceling the ADSL account. Of course there's a few technicalities I need to work around. I have asked MWEB NICELY to co-operate by direct communication with the representatives on MyBroadband.co.za. No assistance has been forthcoming, its a no-brainer as to why. I'll get the information out of them, even if I have to resort to our attorneys getting involved.

I just came back from the boss's office now. We are shutting down for Easter. When we get back, we are canceling the ADSL service and switching over to Cybersmart (my boss is concerned about the payroll runs and other stuff hence I can understand his reasons for the delay).

In the meantime I am busy making the Cybersmart account happen and getting in quotes, et-cetera!
