MWEB launches Nimbuzz

I don't think it's their tool...From what I understand they're the official South African marketers of the application.

I was always under the impression that they were pushing QQ... are they going to drop QQ now?

im sick of the lack of links in your articles, this is the internet not a newspaper *hurl*

Hi rafiq

Thanks for the feedback. We looked for the link on MWEB and could not find anything. Not even Google picked up anything about Nimbuzz on MWEB. Can you maybe provide a link?

i been using nimbuzz for at least 3 years now. i will admit to lmao when i read the article though. makes it sound like mweb designed it or something.

I use nimbuzz it's not that great really. And to take off in south africa any multi messenger client first need qq and mxit support. But it seems small minded south africans behind mxit don't want to open up their protocol or even just improve their support for external protocols. On the links side of things i would also like more links. For this article just mweb.co.za and nimbuzz.com would have done.

Have patience... ;)

I'm another long time nimbuzz mobile user. As far as I'm concerned it's the best mobile IM client available-but then I don't use Mxit. Voip wise, I'd stick to Fring. I tried their desktop offering a couple of months ago and it was far from ready for Joe public, hopefully it's improved.
It's interesting that they have partnered with MWeb though, that should definitely result in a couple of new users.

Competition...

I have always used Mxit, but Nimbuzz has been in my arsenal of communication tools. Let's hope they provide enough competition to Mxit to open up inter connectivity between mxit and other clients. I liked the old Mxit navigation, but new navigation methods are so close to Nimbuzz, maybe it does not matter what you use...

Here is to competition...Much needed competition....

Well after 3 years i don't think anyone can have much more patience.

On the VOIP side things the best J2ME based client must be www.eqo.com . It just works haven't seen anything that runs better. Haven't used fring, does it have a J2ME version or only have smartphone support? I'm also beta testing an official J2ME skype client at the moment it can only recieve calls and be used for messaging. But in other countries call out has been succesfully tested.

The way mweb carries on they can like to think they invented the internet FFS. An absolute idiot company that has a very big ego and small penis size

@Rafiq - The reason behind the lack of links is because most of the info on this site is provided in black and white form, from the companies who pay these guys to review their products. I wonder how much additional research goes into the articles? Think its more cut and paste.. lol - Anyway at least mybroadband is making money. But yeah i agree, a little link love would be great guys.

"MWEB has launched a single tool to connect friends who use different Instant Messaging (IM) programs such as Skype, GTalk, MSN, and Yahoo." ?? Nimbuzz has been around for years, all Mweb launched was a new page to get user info.. lol

Anyway goodluck Mweb its good to see you actually looking at new technology, but I'd say you need to be more honoust if you want my business. Stop try to make it look like a new tool when in fact its an old tool. This will make the existing users like myself loose interest and walk away.
