I'm all for curbing the abusers that "do not play fair" but this vague statement leaves anyone open as a target. Clarify what is not considered fair by your AUP since there is nothing in writing stating this.

define "playing fairly" in terms of gb.
Does anyone know if MWEB has an 'Acceptable Payment Policy' to compensate/reimburse users for when the network is down?

Hi All
The issue is not so much around the amount of usage but rather what a customer is using their ADSL line for and how they are using the internet and if this is appropriate and in-line with our Terms & Conditions.

You're joking, right? I use about a 1/3 of that in 3.5 months.

Hi All
Regular use of our ADSL Uncapped service in an inappropriate manner which is affecting our other customers’ internet experience is seen as unacceptable use. This includes:
• Sharing accounts: where one user shares their ADSL connection with other users
• Unattended use: where a user installs software that allows continuous downloads and uploads
• Bypassing our shaping policy: where a user intentionally hides bandwidth heavy downloading
• Using their connection for commercial gain: Connecting and charging users to access their ADSL line for commercial gain
More information on our policies on abuse can be found in our ADSL Terms & Conditions, sections 7 and 12.
Regards

Also could you provide proof that you aren't shaping?

Their T&C clearly states that the service is uncapped for active internet use, which excludes the above.
Are you "an abuser" if you go to an all you can eat buffet for R589 and REALLY eat ALL YOU CAN EAT? I mean, I can eat a lot, I'm a big guy with a big appetite.
or, do you go to the "All you can eat buffet" for R589 and are told you're only allowed to make two trips to the carvery and no bathroom breaks to limit beverage consumption? As part of their fair usage policy...
Then don't call it an "All you can eat buffet".
Call it, "You can eat 1.5kgs of food for R589 but we'll still charge you for drinks."
Their T&C clearly states that the service is uncapped for active internet use, which excludes the above.
